Svetlana Ražnatović ( Veličković; sr-cyr, Светлана Ражнатовић, ; ; born 14 June 1973), better known by her stage name Ceca ( sr-cyr, Цеца, ), is a Serbian singer and television personality. Often referred to as the "Serbian mother", she is recognized as one of the most popular pop-folk singers in Serbia. Ceca has released sixteen studio albums, which have collectively sold around seven million records, making her one of the best-selling Balkan artists of all time. During her Poziv Tour in 2013, she held a concert in Belgrade with over 150,000 attendants - making it one of the biggest concerts in history. ''Ceca 2000'' (or simply ''2000'') is the tenth studio album by Serbian singer Ceca. It was released on 29 December 1999 by PGP-RTB. Overview The official release of the album took place on 29 December 1999, on the same day Ceca presented the album at the Intercontinental Hotel in Belgrade. The singer held a press conference and also performed several new songs, including "Crveno" and "Crni sneg" in a duet with Aca Lukas. The singer also announced that the album was released in a circulation of 295 thousand copies: 265 thousand on cassettes and 30 thousand on CDs. At the same time, Ceca presented the official calendar for 2000, which was attached as a gift to ''Pink revija'' magazine. The photos used for the album cover and calendar were taken by Dejan Milićević. Two music videos "Dokaz" and "Crveno" were also released and both shot by Milićević. Turbo-folk
Turbo-folk (sometimes referred as pop-folk or popular folk) is subgenre of contemporary pop music with its origins in Serbia, that initially developed during the 1980s and 1990s, with similar music styles in Bulgaria (chalga), Romania (manele) and Albania (tallava). It is a fusion genre of popular music, blending Serbian folk music with other genres: such as pop, rock, electronic and some hip-hop. Background and characteristics Turbo-folk music emerged as a subculture in the countryside during the 1970s before migrating to the city in the '80s and eventually reaching further expansion in the '90s during the rule of Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslav Wars, inflation and political isolation. The term was originally coined by Montenegrin musician Rambo Amadeus whilst jokingly referring to his own musical style. Grand Production ( sr, Гранд продукција) is a Serbian record label and production company predominantly focused on folk performers. The label produces the weekly television show ''Grand Parada'', launched their own cable television channel, and organize a competitive festival of pop-folk and turbo-folk music, Grand Festival. TV shows Since its founding in 1998, the label has produced the weekly television variety show ''Grand Parada'' (or Zvezda Granda), to serve as a showcase for Grand Production's artists. It aired on the Serbian network Pink TV until 2014, when Grand launched their own cable channel, Grand TV, through a contract with United Group. They have a full programming schedule, and also air shows on Prva Srpska Televizija in Serbia and Montenegro, Nova BH in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on Kanal 5 in North Macedonia.
