''Dear Frustrated Superstar'' is the debut album by Nerina Pallot. Following its release in August 2001, the album peaked at UK #82, but officially did not chart as the official UK Albums Chart lists only the Top 75 sellers. Following its lack of commercial success, Pallot publicly criticised the record, which, following the success of follow-up '' Fires'' in 2006, was re-shipped to stores by Polydor at a discount price. According to UK music sales publication ''Music Week'', the album had sold a total of 10,073 copies in the UK as of 28 May 2006.Music Week: Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley top charts', 28 May 2006 Pallot has since begun playing material from ''Dear Frustrated Superstar'' frequently in concert. Nerina Pallot
Nerina Natasha Georgina Pallot (born 26 April 1974) is an English singer, songwriter and producer, who has released six albums and over a dozen EPs. She was nominated for British Female Solo Artist at the 2007 BRIT Awards and nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for " Sophia" in the category of 'Best Song (musically and lyrically)' in the same year. Besides her own material, Pallot has written songs for Kylie Minogue and Diana Vickers. She mostly tours around the UK and is married to record producer Andy Chatterley. Early life Pallot was born in London and brought up in Jersey by a half-French father and a mother from Prayag, India, together with her sister. Fires (Nerina Pallot Album)
''Fires'' is the second album by London-born singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot. First released in April 2005 on her own independent record label, Idaho Records, ''Fires'' was met with much critical acclaim but did not gain commercial recognition. After working as a support act for artists such as Sheryl Crow and Suzanne Vega, Pallot was signed up to 14th Floor Records, who were impressed with the audience response and after-show sales of her album. Thus, ''Fires'' was reissued in late April 2006 with revamped artwork and some slight remixes on some of Pallot's songs. The album entered at UK #41 and later, on the strength of the popular single "Everybody's Gone to War", made it as far as #21. To date, the album has been certified gold in the UK for sales of over 100,000, and has earned Pallot a nomination at the 2007 BRIT Awards for Best British Female.
