David Williams (2000s Pitcher)
David Aaron Williams (born March 12, 1979) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and New York Mets, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yokohama BayStars. Career Williams graduated in 1997 from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates the following year. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
