David Waters (actor)
David Waters is a stage, television and film actor who began his professional performing arts career at La Boite Theatre, Brisbane then joining the Queensland Theatre Company in repertory for six years and then Twelfth Night Theatre Company for two further years repertory. Waters was born in the UK and worked briefly as a journalist for George Newnes Press on their publications, Country Life and The New Musical Express, in London before migrating to Australia with his family in 1969. Sydney Theatre Company (STC) is an Australian theatre company based in Sydney, New South Wales. The company performs in The Wharf Theatre at Dawes Point in The Rocks area of Sydney, as well as the Roslyn Packer Theatre (formerly Sydney Theatre) and the Sydney Opera House Drama Theatre. History Sydney Theatre Company was formed in December 1978, following the closure of The Old Tote Theatre Company the month before. ''Cop Shop'' is a long-running Australian police drama television series produced by Crawford Productions that ran for seven seasons between 28 November 1977 and 23 July 1984. ''A Country Practice'' is an Australian television soap opera which broadcast on the Seven Network from 18 November 1981 until 5 November 1993, airing at 7:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday evenings. ''Match Mates'' is an Australian children's television game show that was broadcast afternoon on Nine Network Australia between 1981 and 1982. Mike Ockrent
Michael Robert Ockrent (18 June 1946 – 2 December 1999) was a British stage director, well-known both for his Broadway musicals and smaller niche plays. He was educated at Highgate School. Through directing ''Educating Rita'', '' The Nerd'' and ''Follies'', he became an established figure in London theatre. In 1986 he made a successful transition to New York City with '' Me and My Girl'' that earned several Tony Award nominations. In later life Ockrent worked in film, mainly straight-to-TV movies. In 1992 Ockrent worked with Susan Stroman on '' Crazy for You'' and other productions. They were married in 1996 and remained so until Ockrent's death from leukaemia in New York in 1999. Ockrent's son is the screenwriter and director Ben Ockrent. A charitable trust now exists in his name. The trust aims to give access to theatre for children with cancer, involving nights at the theatre with visits backstage afterwards. Judi Farr (born c.1938/1939), also credited as Judy Farr, is an Australian former actress of theatre, film and television best known for several situation comedy roles on Australian television.
