David Simpson (priest)
Rev David Simpson, M.A. (12 October 1745 – 24 March 1799) was an Anglican priest who spent most of his career in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. Early life and education David Simpson was born at Ingleby Arncliffe, near Northallerton, Yorkshire, the son of Ralph Simpson, a farmer. He was expected to follow his father's occupation but as a boy received a calling to the ministry. He was educated at Scorton Grammar School and then at St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated B.A in 1769 and M.A. in 1772. His theology was evangelical and this was to cause problems during his career. As an undergraduate he became a friend of Rowland Hill, and he was also a close friend of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. Thomas David Simpson (born 16 February 1959) is a Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) politician in Northern Ireland, who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Bann from 2005 to 2019. On 6 November 2019 Simpson announced that he would not be standing for re-election in the 2019 general election. Simpson had previously been a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Upper Bann, from 2003 to 2010. David Philip Simpson (born June 27, 1961) is a former Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 7, based in Gregg and Upshur counties. In 2010, he unseated the incumbent, Tommy Merritt of Longview, in the Republican primary with 52.88 percent of the vote and then prevailed in the general election for the 82nd Texas Legislature on November 2, 2010 with 91.28 percent of the vote, having had no Democratic opponent. Life and career Simpson was born in Lubbock in West Texas. He was the mayor of Avinger in Cass County from 1993 to 1998 before he relocated in 2000 to Longview, the seat of government of Gregg County. He and his wife, Susan, have seven children. Dave Stewart Simpson (born March 3, 1962) is a Canadian former ice hockey player, now executive director of the Business Families Centre at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and known as David Simpson. He played junior hockey for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, and recorded the best single season in team history when he recorded 155 points in 1981-82. He holds the record for most points by a rookie in a single game. In that year he also won the Red Tilson Trophy, Bobby Smith Trophy, William Hanley Trophy and the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy for his accomplishments in junior hockey, as well as being named the CHL Player of the Year. No other player in OHL history has won so many trophies in one season. He was drafted in the third round (59th overall) of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by NY Islanders. Dave Simpson (born January 11, 1983 as David Anthony Simpson Knight) is a Canadian retired association football, footballer. Youth career Simpson began his youth career with North Scarborough SC, where he played until he was 17. During his time with NSSC, he earned a trial with Southampton F.C. following an appearance at the Welsh International Super Cup, where he was named the Golden Boot Winner, scoring 14 goals in 5 matches. He then joined the Erin Mills Soccer Club, as part of their Professional Soccer Academy (PSA). In 2001, he travelled to Stuttgart, Germany with PSA, where they played against various teams including against the youth academy of VfB Stuttgart, where he impressed the Stuttgart coach, who got Simpson to play the second half with his team. David Simpson (born 1928) is an American abstract painter who lives and works in Berkeley, California. In 1956 Simpson graduated from the California School of Fine Arts (now the San Francisco Art Institute) with a BFA; and in 1958 he earned an MFA, from the San Francisco State College. Since 1958 Simpson has had more than 70 solo exhibitions of his paintings in galleries and museums worldwide.
