David Paul Campbell
David Paul Campbell is an American musician and songwriter. Campbell was briefly a student at the University of Georgia before pursuing music, falling in first with old high school classmate Ry Cooder, then Taj Mahal. During his time in Atlanta, he was president of the Atlanta Folk Music Society. He plays guitar, mandolin, Hammond organ, bouzouki, dulcimer, keyboards and harmonica. A longtime touring musician, sideman and accompanist, Campbell toured with pioneer bluesman Buddy Moss in the 1960s. He played behind Sam Chatmon and toured with or opened for Dave Mason, Maria Muldaur, Ten Years After, Poco and several more. Campbell figures into the history of The Doors through a brief 1975 stint in Butts Band, a group founded by ex-Doors Robbie Krieger and John Densmore. He appears on neither of the band’s two LPs. Robbie Krieger
Robert Alan Krieger (born January 8, 1946) is an American guitarist and founding member of the rock band the Doors. Krieger wrote or co-wrote many of the Doors' songs, including the hits "Light My Fire", " Love Me Two Times", " Touch Me", and " Love Her Madly". When the Doors disbanded following the death of lead singer Jim Morrison, Krieger continued to perform and record with other musicians including former Doors bandmates John Densmore and Ray Manzarek. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Doors and is listed by ''Rolling Stone'' as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Jessie Lilley is an American writer, editor and small-press magazine publisher best known as the original publisher of ''Scarlet Street'' magazine. She is currently editor-in-chief of ''Mondo Cult''. magazine. Lilley began publishing ''Scarlet Street'' in 1990 before her association with a number of small-press film magazines like ''RetroVision'', ''Chiller Magazine'', ''Worldly Remains: A Pop Culture Review'', ''Cinefantastique'', ''Scary Monsters'', '' Femme Fatales'', ''Little Shoppe of Horrors'' and the recent re-launch of ''Famous Monsters of Filmland''. Santa Cruz ( Spanish for "Holy Cross") is the county seat and largest city of Santa Cruz County, in Northern California. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 62,956. Situated on the northern edge of Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz is a popular tourist destination, owing to its beaches, surf culture, and historic landmarks. John Densmore
John Paul Densmore (born December 1, 1944) is an American musician, songwriter, author and actor. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band the Doors, and as such is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He appeared on every recording made by the band, with drumming inspired by jazz and world music as much as by rock and roll. Densmore is also noted for his veto of attempts by the other two Doors members, in the wake of singer Jim Morrison's 1971 death, to accept offers to license the rights to various Doors songs for commercial purposes, as well as his objections to their use in the 21st century of the Doors name and logo. Densmore's lengthy court battles to gain compliance with his veto, based on a 1960s contract requiring unanimity among Doors members to use the band's name or music, ended with total victory for him and his allies in the Morrison estate. Butts Band
Butts Band was a British and American group formed by ex-Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, active from 1973 to 1975. The band released two albums and, with the exception of Krieger and Densmore, they consisted of different band personnel on each. History Butts Band came about as a consequence of the Doors trying to find a replacement for lead singer Jim Morrison, who had died in July 1971. The three remaining Doors had released two albums ('' Other Voices'' in 1971 and '' Full Circle'' in 1972), with Ray Manzarek and Krieger sharing vocals. Unable to recruit a singer in the US, the three Doors went to London in 1973 seeking an experienced lead singer and auditioned several British singers, including Howard Werth (the singer of Audience), Kevin Coyne (from Siren) and Jess Roden (who was the leader of Bronco). Ryland Peter "Ry" Cooder (born March 15, 1947) is an American musician, songwriter, film score composer, record producer, and writer. He is a multi-instrumentalist but is best known for his slide guitar work, his interest in traditional music, and his collaborations with traditional musicians from many countries. Cooder's solo work draws upon many genres.
