Dave Felton
David Felton (born 1967), known professionally as Gravy, is an American guitarist who is best known as a member of the Cleveland, Ohio-based heavy metal band Mushroomhead. He currently plays in another Cleveland-based heavy metal band KRIADIAZ. Biography He also plays guitar for a metal cover band called S.O.S., a short stint in Jeff Hatrix's hair metal band Purgatory, Hatrix, and for the hardcore band (216). Gravy's brother Steve Felton plays drums for Mushroomhead. Gravy wears a mummy-like mask based on the character from a horror movie with Xs on it (which are often painted with different colors of make up.) Dave has finished a solo project CD titled "Daves Heavy Duty Demo" and has recorded several tracks with Mushroomhead frontman, J Mann. Dave's earliest recorded work was with another Cleveland based band called "Centurion". The album was titled "Cross and Black", recorded in 1985. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal. Alternative metal bands are often characterized by heavily downtuned, mid-paced guitar riffs, a mixture of accessible melodic vocals and harsh vocals and sometimes unconventional sounds within other heavy metal styles. The term has been in use since the 1980s, although it came into prominence in the 1990s. Other genres considered part of the alternative metal movement included rap metal and funk metal, both of which influenced another prominent subgenre, nu metal. Nu metal expands the alternative metal sound, combining its vocal stylings and downtuned riffs with elements of other genres, such as hip hop, funk, thrash metal, hardcore punk and industrial metal. Peavey 5150
The Peavey 5150 is a vacuum tube based guitar amplifier made by Peavey Electronics from 1992 on. The amplifier was initially created as a signature model for Eddie Van Halen. After Van Halen and Peavey parted ways in 2004, the name was changed to Peavey 6505. The 5150 name was used again by Van Halen in partnership with Fender under the EVH brand. Peavey's amplifier was renamed to 6505 in celebration of Peavey's 40th anniversary (1965–2005). Design of the amplifier began in 1990 and it became a flagship project for Peavey and for then lead engineer James Brown (who has since founded Amptweaker), lasting for about 13 years, comprising the 5150 and 5150 II, until 2004. Yngwie Johan Malmsteen ( ; born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck, 30 June 1963) is a Swedish guitarist. He first became known in the 1980s for his neoclassical playing style in heavy metal, and has released 22 studio albums in a career spanning over 40 years. In 2009, ''Time'' magazine rated Malmsteen as number 9 among the 11 greatest electric guitar players of all time. Early life Malmsteen was born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck in Stockholm, Sweden, the third child of a musical family.
