Danish Constituent Assembly
The Danish Constituent Assembly () is the name given to the 1848 Constitutional assembly at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen that approved the Danish Constitution and formalized the transition from absolute monarchy to constitutional democracy. It consisted of members of which 114 were elected by the people, 38 were appointed by the king and the rest were government ministers. The Danish Constituent Assembly first met on 23 October 1848. Kongens Lyngby
Kongens Lyngby (, Danish for "the King's Heather Town"; short form Lyngby) is the seat and commercial centre of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Lyngby Hovedgade is a busy shopping street and the site of a branch of Magasin du Nord as well as Lyngby Storcenter. The district is also home to several major companies, including COWI A/S, Bang & Olufsen, ICEpower a/s and Microsoft. Ramløse
Ramløse is a town and parish located on the northeast shore of Lake Arresø in Gribskov Municipality, North Zealand, some 50 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Local landmarks include Ramløse Church and Ramløse Windmill. History The name Ramløse means "marshy pastures or meadow". In the Middle Ages, Ramløse consisted of 29 farms, making it one of the largest villages in Frederiksborg County. Most of the parish belonged to Tamløsegård, a fortified farm under the biscopic in Roskilde. Bishop Rico, who had sided with Eric Lam in the battle for the Danish throne, was murdered by Oluf Haraldsen at Tamløsegård in 1139. After the Reformation in 1556, Ramløsegård was confiscated by the Crown. The king used the estate as a private hunting ground. Johan Christian Drewsen
Johan Christian Drewsen (23 December 1777 – 25 August 1851) was a Danish paper manufacturer, agronomist and politician. He owned Strandmøllen north of Copenhagen. Early life and education Srewsen was born at Strandmøllen, the son of paper manufacturer Christian Drewsen (1745–1810). His paternal family had come to Denmark from Hanover where they had been involved in manufacturing paper since 1692. Prominent cultural figures such as Knud Lyne Rahbek and Adam Oehlenschläger were frequent visitors to the home. The writer and translator Hans Guldberg Sveistrup was a house teacher. His friend, Conrad Malte-Brun, sought refuge at Strandmøllen when he had the flee the country in 1793. Andreas Frederik Krieger (4 October 1817, Arendal, Kolbjørnsvik – 27 September 1893) was a Denmark, Danish politician, government minister, professor of law and supreme court judge.
