Daniel Tavares Martins (born 12 March 1996) is a Brazilian Paralympic athlete who competes in sprinting events at international elite events. Career He represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and won a gold medal in the 400 metres T20 event. He is also a three-time gold medal winner at the World Para Athletics Championships, and a Parapan American Games champion in the 400 metres T20. He was the first Brazilian Paralympic athlete to do so in the T20 classification. Marília () is a Brazilian municipality in the midwestern region of the state of São Paulo. Its distance from the state capital São Paulo is by highway, by railway and in a straight line. The 2019 Parapan American Games ( es, Juegos Parapanamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the VI Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 ParaPan-Am Games, was an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, celebrated in the tradition of the Parapan American Games as governed by the Americas Paralympic Committee, which was held from August 23 to September 1, 2019 in Lima, Peru. Bidding process Four bids were submitted for the 2019 Pan and Parapan American Games, and they were officially announced on February 1, 2013. These were Lima in Peru, Santiago in Chile, Ciudad Bolívar in Venezuela and La Punta in Argentina. Lima bid for the games for the second consecutive time after losing to Toronto for the 2015 edition of the games. The other three cities bid for the Parapan American games for the first time.
