The following is a list of characters from the Spike Chunsoft video game series ''Danganronpa''. The series follows the students of Hope's Peak Academy who are forced into a life of mutual killing by a sadistic teddy bear named Monokuma. Danganronpa
is a Japanese video game franchise created by Kazutaka Kodaka and developed and owned by Spike Chunsoft (formerly Spike). The series primarily surrounds various groups of apparent high school students who are forced into murdering each other by a robotic teddy bear named Monokuma. Gameplay features a mix of adventure, visual novel, detective and dating simulator elements. The first game, '' Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc'', was released for the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The original scenario was written by Kodaka, who aimed to create a dark adventure game. The original concept was rejected for being too gruesome, but it was later approved after retooling. The series has morphed into a franchise that includes manga, anime, and novels. The franchise became one of Spike's most successful works since they previously outsourced their works. Junko Enoshima
is a fictional character and the primary overarching antagonist of Spike Chunsoft's '' Danganronpa'' series. Junko is featured as the main antagonist and mastermind in the first two games of the series as the true identity of the robotic teddy bear headmaster , in the spin-off '' Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls'' in the guises of Monokuma variants and , and in the anime '' Danganronpa: The Animation'' and the "Despair Arc" of '' Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School''. The identity of Junko is also adopted by her fraternal twin sister and body double , the pair and their cult being known as the , and by the showrunners of the ''Danganronpa'' reality television series.
