Robert Gordon (director)
Robert Gordon (August 21, 1913 in Pittsburgh – December 1, 1990 in Los Angeles) was an American director and actor. His acting career, in which he was usually credited as Bobby Gordon, began in 1923 while he was a child, and continued through 1939. His first directing credit came with the 1947 film '' Blind Spot'', after which he directed several films, including ''The Joe Louis Story'' in 1953, ''It Came from Beneath the Sea'' in 1955, '' Black Zoo'' in 1963; and television series episodes including ''My Friend Flicka'', ''Zane Grey Theater'', '' The Texan'' and ''The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis''. Except for Myrna Loy, who died in 1993, he was the last surviving cast member of ''The Jazz Singer''. Ann Robinson (born May 25, 1929) is a former American actress and stunt horse rider, perhaps best known for her work in the science-fiction classic ''The War of the Worlds'' (1953) and in the 1954 film '' Dragnet'', in which she starred as a Los Angeles police officer opposite Jack Webb and Ben Alexander. Early life Robinson was born at the Hollywood Hospital in Hollywood, California. She attended Hollywood High School. Film noir (; ) is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and motivations. The 1940s and 1950s are generally regarded as the "classic period" of American ''film noir''. Film noir of this era is associated with a low-key, black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography. Károly "Charles" Horváth was a soccer player who played in the National Professional Soccer League, International Soccer League, and German-American Soccer League. Born in Hungary, he earned one cap for the United States national team. Club career He started his professional career at Újpesti Dózsa in Hungary. He moved to Canada as a teenager and played for Hungária SC Montréal and Montréal Concordia FC in the National Soccer League. In 1961, he helped Montréal Concordia win the Canadian Carling's Red Cap Trophy (Challenge Trophy). In 1962, Horvath was with the New York Hungaria of the German American Soccer League when they won the National Challenge Cup. Clegg Hoyt (December 10, 1910 – October 6, 1967) was an American film and television actor. He appeared in over 100 films and television programs, and was perhaps best known for his silent role as the Sportscaster's sidekick, George, in the 1963 film ''Son of Flubber'', appearing in a scene with actor, comedian and game show panelist Paul Lynde. Hoyt also played the recurring role of Mac in 13 episodes of the American medical drama television series '' Dr. Kildare''. He died in October 1967 of a stroke in Woodland Hills, California.
