DD Direct Plus
DD Free Dish (previously known as DD Direct Plus) is an Indian free-to-air satellite television provider. DD Free Dish DTH service is owned and operated by Public Service Broadcaster Prasar Bharati. It was launched in December, 2004. In March 2022, It has a reach of over 43 million households which is more than 25% of the total TV households in the country. DD Free Dish earns by selling slots to private broadcasters through e-auctions. Currently, DD Free Dish has 116 television channels, among which 94 channels are in MPEG-2 format and 22 channels in MPEG-4 format. For classes 1 to 12, educational TV channels are run under PM e-Vidya program. DD-Girnar previously known as DD-10 GUJARATI is the Gujarati language channel of India's national broadcaster, Doordarshan. It is broadcast out of studios at Doordarshan Kendra (Center) in Ahmedabad in Gujarat State. History Doordarshan Kendra, Ahmedabad was set up on 15 March 1976, as a part of the Satellite Instructional Television Experiment SITE Project of ISRO and the 1 KW transmitter was based in PIJ, Kheda District. DD Chandana is a Kannada TV channel owned and operated by Prasar Bharati under Doordarshan, supported by Doordarshan studios in Bengaluru and Kalburgi.
