Dynamo Dresden Players
As one of the leading clubs in East Germany, Dynamo Dresden provided 36 List of East Germany international footballers, East German internationals, including the country's second most-capped player, Hans-Jürgen Dörner, and its joint second top scorer, Hans-Jürgen Kreische. Kreische and Siegmar Wätzlich were in East Germany's squad for their only FIFA World Cup, World Cup appearance (1974 FIFA World Cup, 1974), while twelve Dynamo players won Football at the Summer Olympics, Olympic medals, including six gold medallists in Football at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1976. After German reunification a number of Dynamo players went on to represent the Germany national football team, Germany national team, including Jens Jeremies, Ulf Kirsten, Olaf Marschall and Alexander Zickler. The German Federal Archives or Bundesarchiv (BArch) (, lit. "Federal Archive") are the national archives of Germany. They were established at the current location in Koblenz in 1952. Alexander Zickler
Alexander Zickler (born 28 February 1974) is a German professional football coach and a former player who played as a striker. He is the assistant manager of Marco Rose at RB Leipzig. He spent 12 years of his professional career with Bayern Munich, appearing in more than 300 official games and winning 19 major titles, notably seven Bundesliga championships and the 2001 Champions League. He also played six years in Austria with two clubs. Zickler was a German international for four years, but did not attend any major international tournament. Andreas Trautmann
Andreas Trautmann (born 21 May 1959) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Trautmann spent much of his career with Dynamo Dresden, for whom he played 270 games in the DDR-Oberliga (the third most for the club, behind Hans-Jürgen Dörner and Reinhard Häfner, respectively). During this time he earned 14 caps for East Germany, and won the silver medal at the 1980 Olympics. After reunification, Trautmann moved west, joining Fortuna Köln alongside teammates Matthias Döschner and Hans-Uwe Pilz, but it did not work out, and he was back at Dynamo Dresden within six months. He played out his career across town with Dresdner SC, before retiring in 1994. The title Footballer of the Year (German: ''Fußballer des Jahres'') has been awarded in West Germany from 1960 to 1990 and Germany since 1991. Eligible are German players as well as non-German players playing in Germany. In 1996, the title Women's Footballer of the Year (German: ''Fußballerin des Jahres'') was awarded for the first time. Both awards are determined by a poll of German football journalists from the Association of German Sports Journalists (''Verband Deutscher Sportjournalisten'') and the publication kicker. Johnny Ekström
Johnny Douglas Ekström (born 5 March 1965) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a forward and a winger. He played professionally in Italy, Germany, France, and Spain but is best remembered for his time in Sweden with IFK Göteborg with which he was the 1986 Allsvenskan top scorer and won three Swedish Championships. A full international between 1986 and 1995, he won 47 caps for the Sweden national team and represented his country at the 1990 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1992. Miran Pavlin (born 8 October 1971) is a Slovenian football executive and former player who played as midfielder. He featured for clubs such as Olimpija, SC Freiburg, Olympiakos Nicosia, APOEL, FC Porto and Olimpija Ljubljana. As of August 2024, Pavlin is the sporting director at Nottingham Forest. Klemen Lavrič
Klemen Lavrič (born 12 June 1981) is a Slovenian retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career Born in Trbovlje, Lavrič started playing football for domestic Rudar Trbovlje and later moved to Rudar Velenje. Hajduk Split was the first club outside of Slovenia for which he played, followed by Inter Zaprešić in Croatia. After this, Lavrič moved to German club Dynamo Dresden. In the 2004–05 season he was voted the second best player of 2. Bundesliga, only beaten by Lukas Podolski. Ivo Ulich (born 9 September 1974) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Ulich played for Slavia Prague, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Vissel Kobe and Dynamo Dresden. He retired from football in 2008, but stayed with Dynamo Dresden as a scout.
