Dworzec Gdański Metro Station
Dworzec Gdański (''Gdańsk Train Station'') is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, located just south of the Warszawa Gdańska railway station, at the viaduct of Andersa Street over Słomińskiego Street. It is one of the major transport hubs in the northern part of the city of Warsaw. The station was opened on 20 December 2003 as the northern terminus of the extension from Ratusz. On 8 April 2005 the line was extended further north to Plac Wilsona. The ''A-17 Dworzec Gdański'', to give its official name, is a two-storey station, with a single central platform located on the lower level. The platform is 12 metres wide and 120 metres long. The overall length of the station itself is 156 metres and the width is 20.4 metres. Both ends of the station are equipped with escalators and stairs, as well as elevators. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. M1 (Warsaw)
The M1 line is the first line of the Warsaw Metro. It is 23.1 km(~14.4 mi) long, has 21 stations and runs from the Kabaty neighborhood in the Ursynów district to the Młociny district in Bielany. The decision to build it was made in 1982, and a year later the first works in Ursynów began. In 1995, the first section of the route connecting Ursynów and Mokotów with Śródmieście, Warsaw, Śródmieście was launched, and the next sections were put into operation in the following years. In 2008, construction of the Bielany section was completed and crossings on the whole line were started. There is also a plan to add two additional stations around the center portion of the metro line. M1 trains run from approximately 5:00 AM to 12:10 AM (from Monday to Thursday and Sunday) and from approximately 5:00 AM to 3:00 AM (Fridays and Saturdays). Warsaw Metro
The Warsaw Metro () is a rapid transit underground system serving the Poland, Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north–south M1 (Warsaw), M1 line which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and southern Dzielnica, districts, and the east–west M2 (Warsaw), M2 line. Ratusz Arsenał Metro Station
Ratusz Arsenał is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, Poland, located under the Plac Bankowy (English: ''Bank Square'') in the borough of Śródmieście. The station was opened on 11 May 2001 as the northern terminus of the extension from Centrum. On 20 December 2003 the line was extended further north to Dworzec Gdański. Plac Wilsona Metro Station
Plac Wilsona (English: Wilson Square) is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro. It is located below Wilson Square in the Żoliborz district in northern Warsaw. The station was opened on 8 April 2005 as the northern terminus of the extension from Dworzec Gdański. On 29 December 2006 the line was extended further north to Marymont as shuttle service, and on 20 March 2008 as normal service. On 7 April 2008 during the Metrorail convention it won a Metro award for the best recently constructed station. It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński. Muranów (Warsaw Metro)
Muranów () is a neighbourhood in the districts of Warszawa-Śródmieście, Śródmieście (Downtown) and Wola in central Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It was founded in the 17th century. The name is derived from the palace belonging to Simone Giuseppe Belotti, a Venice, Venetian architect, who originally came to Warsaw from the island of Murano.
