Drama Stage
''Drama Stage'' () is a South Korean weekly television program that features ten one-act dramas, which is similar to KBS2's ''Drama Special''. The short plays were created by writers selected from the ''O'PEN Drama Storyteller Exhibition''. O'PEN writers were recruited through an open call between January and March 2017. A total of 3,700 aspiring writers applied for the competition with scripts for dramas or films during the contest period of about two months. Dozen of various drama and film industry officials judged the scripts in two to three rounds. The jury finally selected 35 new writers, including 20 new drama writers and 15 new movie writers. Held by CJ E&M, these were adapted as one-act dramas produced by the former's subsidiary Studio Dragon in partnership with other companies. It aired on tvN every Saturday at midnight. South Korean Anthology Television Series

Korean is the native language for about 81 million people, mostly of Korean descent. It is the national language of both South Korea and North Korea. ''KBS Drama Special'' () is a South Korean anthology series created and broadcast by KBS2, with each episode having a different story, cast, director and scriptwriter. The format is based on its predecessor '' Drama City'' and MBC's Best Theater. ''Drama City'' ended its run in 2008 after 14 years. Since then, television series adapted from comic books or online novels have been rising to the mainstream, leaving even less space for short series to make a comeback. However, on May 15, 2010, ''KBS Drama Special'' was introduced in the form of a single-episode anthology series, starting with "Red Candy" by veteran scriptwriter Noh Hee-kyung.
