Douglas Jackman
Air Marshal Sir Harold Douglas Jackman, (26 October 1902 – 15 June 1991) was a senior Royal Air Force officer who served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Maintenance Command from 1958 until his retirement in 1961. RAF career Jackman joined the Royal Air Force in 1926 initially serving as a Stores Officer. He served in the Second World War as an Administrative Staff Officer at Headquarters RAF Middle East, then as Air Officer Administration at Headquarters Mediterranean Air Command before becoming Assistant Air Officer Administration at Headquarters Mediterranean Allied Air Forces and then Air Officer Administration at Headquarters Balkan Air Force. Royal Air Force
The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force. It was formed towards the end of the First World War on 1 April 1918, becoming the first independent air force in the world, by regrouping the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). Following the Allied victory over the Central Powers in 1918, the RAF emerged as the largest air force in the world at the time. Since its formation, the RAF has taken a significant role in British military history. Leslie Dalton-Morris
Air Marshal Sir Leslie Dalton Morris, (7 April 1906 – 28 October 1976) was a senior Royal Air Force (RAF) commander in the middle of the twentieth century. He played a leading role in the use of signals in the Air Force both during and after the Second World War. Early years After joining the RAF as a trainee pilot in 1924, Dalton-Morris underwent instruction at No. 5 Flying Training School at Sealand near Chester. He served a period as a night flying pilot, then was posted to No. 15 Squadron, before being selected to attend the RAF Electrical and Wireless School in 1929. Graduating from his course as a flight lieutenant with a permanent commission, Dalton-Morris served as the signals officer with No. 203 Squadron in the early 1930s. After a tour of duty at the Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment at RAF Felixstowe, Dalton-Morris returned to the Electrical and Wireless School as an instructor in 1935. Air Marshal Sir Richard Bowen Jordan, (7 February 1902 – 24 April 1994) was a bomber pilot and squadron commander during the Second World War, a senior Royal Air Force officer during the post-war years and the sixth Commandant of the Royal Observer Corps (1949–51). Early Royal Air Force career Educated at Marlborough College Sir Richard was one of the first cadets at the new RAF College Cranwell in 1921, at the age of 19, where he learned to fly. He represented the college at both cricket and rugby having been appointed in the rank of flight cadet sergeant. On graduation he was granted a permanent commission in the rank of pilot officer in 1922 and posted as a pilot to No. 2 Squadron.
