doubleTwist Corporation is a digital media company founded by Monique Farantzos and Jon Lech Johansen. It is backed by Index Ventures (Skype, Last.FM) and Northzone Ventures. The doubleTwist application enables users to send photos and videos to their friends and sync their media library to a wide variety of portable devices. Software ''doubleTwist Music Player'' is an application available for Android devices. It is compatible with iTunes and Windows Media Player, allowing users to sync movies, pictures, music, and playlists to their mobile device through USB. The software is available free of charge in the Google Play app store. An in-app purchase enables "pro" features including "AirSync" which allows sync over WiFi, AirPlay, UPnP/ DLNA support, equalizer, album art search, and removal of podcast ads. Jon Lech Johansen
Jon Lech Johansen (born November 18, 1983, in Harstad, Norway), also known as DVD Jon, is a Norwegian programmer who has worked on reverse engineering data formats. He wrote the DeCSS software, which decodes the Content Scramble System used for DVD licensing enforcement. Johansen is a self-trained software engineer, who quit high school during his first year to spend more time with the DeCSS case. He moved to the United States and worked as a software engineer from October 2005 until November 2006. He then returned to Norway, but moved back to the United States in June 2007. OpenCandy
OpenCandy was an adware module and a potentially unwanted program classified as malware by many anti-virus vendors. They flagged OpenCandy due to its undesirable side-effects. It was designed to run during installation of other desired software. Produced by SweetLabs, it consisted of a Microsoft Windows library incorporated in a Windows Installer. When a user installed an application that had bundled the OpenCandy library, an option appeared to install software it recommended based on a scan of the user's system and geolocation.
