Eiði
Eiði (''Northern Faroese'' �ɔiːjɪ) is a village located on the north-west tip of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. It is the seat of Eiði Municipality. It is located 4 km north of Ljósá and 6.5 km west of Funningur. History Eiði was first mentioned in writing early in the 14th century. Eiði was settled by Norsemen. The earliest sign of settlement was carbondated to approx. 920 CE. Settlement is likely to have happened earlier. In the centre of the village is Eiði Church. It was founded on September 18, 1881, and was designed in 1879 by Danish architect Hans Christian Amberg. The LORAN-C transmitter Ejde was previously located just east of Eiði. The transmitter was deemed obsolete in 2015 and was turned off for the final time on 1 January, 2016 and dismantled three years later. EB/Streymur/Skála is a Faroese women's football team based in Skála and Streymnes. The team is the result of a cooperation between the women's football departments of EB/Streymur and Skála ÍF. They won the 1. deild kvinnur for the first time in 2017, ending KÍ's run of 17 consecutive titles. History Before the 2013 season, Skála and EB/Streymur, which finished 5th and 6th, respectively, in the previous season (contested by 10 clubs), unified their women's teams, aiming to compete for the title against the dominant KÍ. KÍ Klaksvík Kvinnur is the women's football team of KÍ Klaksvík, a Faroese football club, based in Klaksvík and founded in 1904. The club plays in blue and white. Argja Bóltfelag (AB) is a Faroese professional football club based in Argir. In 2020, they were playing their third season in the Faroe Islands Premier League, after being promoted from 1. deild after playing there for 1 season in 2017. After the 2020 season they ended as 9th and played a match against B68 Toftir from 1. deild, the winner would play in the Faroe Islands Premier League for the 2021 season. HB Tórshavn women is the women's Association football, football team of HB Tórshavn, a Faroe Islands, Faroese football club, based in Tórshavn and founded in 1904. The club plays in red and black striped shirts. Their stadium, Gundadalur, has a capacity of 4000. Histgory The women's was created in 1985 and the team is the second most successful team in the Faroe Islands, being champions seven times, last time in 1999. Even though it was the club's 100th anniversary in 2004 they had to cancel their team's participation in the competition due to lack of players. As of 2011 Allan Dybczak was appointed head coach of the HB women's team, along with assistant coach Bogi Højgaard. The Faroe Islands women's national football team represents the Faroe Islands in women's association football and is controlled by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF), the Sport governing body, governing body of all football in the Faroe Islands.
