James Patrick Anthony Dore (born July 26, 1965) is an American stand-up comedian, political commentator, podcaster and YouTube personality. He is the host of '' The Jimmy Dore Show'', a comedic political talk show on YouTube. Dore started as a comedian in Illinois in 1989 and made several appearances on late night talk shows early in his comedy career. From 2005 onward, his performances increasingly included political commentary. Dore was affiliated with ''The Young Turks'' from 2009 to 2019 and appeared on a Young Turks Network show titled ''Aggressive Progressives''. Dore, South Yorkshire
Dore is a large village in the Sheffield district, in the county of South Yorkshire, England. The village lies on a hill above the River Sheaf which gave Sheffield its name and, until 1934, was part of Derbyshire but it is now a suburb of the city. Dore and Totley was the only ward of the city which regularly elected a Conservative councillor; however, as of May 2016, all three councillors were Liberal Democrats. The Member of Parliament for the Sheffield Hallam constituency, of which Dore is part, is Olivia Blake ( Labour) who was elected in 2019. Richard Dore
Richard Dore (1749–1800) was an attorney, deputy judge advocate and secretary to the governor of the Colony of New South Wales, Australia in the late 18th century. He was the second person to hold office as deputy judge advocate, a position akin to the position of chief justice in the colony, and the first legally qualified person to do so. Author Robert Hughes described Dore as a "blundering and cantankerous incompetent, much given to petty graft". In reality, he was probably no worse than other deputy judge advocates who served before or after him. Charlie Dore (born 1956) is an English singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and actress. Although best known as a singer-songwriter, Dore has a multi-faceted career that includes acting in film, TV and radio, comedy-improvisation, and composition for film and TV. Monica Stucchi (born 28 May 1963), known by her stage name Valerie Dore, is an Italian singer. Career Monica Stucchi was born in Milan, Italy. Prior to her career in music, she worked as a graphic designer. In the early 1980s she fronted The Watermelon String Band, a bluegrass ensemble led by the banjoist Bruno Guaitamacchi that performed in the Milan clubs circuit. Stucchi was discovered at age 20 by the Italo producer Roberto Gasparini, who launched her solo career and gave her the stage name Valerie Dore to improve her international appeal. Julie Dore
Julie Dore is a British Labour Party politician, who was Leader of Sheffield City Council from May 2011 until January 2021, on which she represents Arbourthorne. She has been a member of Sheffield City Council since she was elected to the predecessor Park Ward in a by-election in October 2000. In 2008 she became Chair of a Council Scrutiny Board, and in May 2010 she joined the Shadow Cabinet. On 11 February 2020 Dore announced that she would not contest her seat at the upcoming local elections in May, and would stand down as leader of the council. John Clark Dore (March 22, 1822 – December 14, 1900) was an American educator and politician from New Hampshire. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dore briefly taught in Boston, Massachusetts before he was recruited to come to Chicago, Illinois to serve as its first superintendent of school. Dore was also a successful merchant, serving as the vice president of the Chicago Board of Trade. He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1868, where he helped to establish the Illinois Humane Society. David Dore
David Dore (August 9, 1940 – April 8, 2016) was a Canadian figure skating competitor and official. He won the 1964 Canadian national title in four skating. He later served as Skate Canada's president and director general and as vice-president of the International Skating Union. Personal life Dore was born on August 9, 1940, in East York, Toronto. He nearly died from polio at the age of 12 and had to regain his ability to walk. He and his wife had two children, Paul and Chris. He died in Ottawa on April 8, 2016.
