"Doctor (Work It Out)" is a song produced by American musician Pharrell Williams and sung by Miley Cyrus. It is their first collaboration in ten years, after Cyrus featured on Williams's 2014 single "Come Get It Bae"; Williams previously produced four songs for Cyrus's fourth studio album ''Bangerz'' (2013). "Doctor (Work It Out)" is a restructured and re-recorded version of a song recorded during the ''Bangerz'' recording sessions. They worked with songwriter Michael Pollack (songwriter), Michael Pollack and released it on March 1, 2024. Background and release The song was initially written and recorded by Cyrus—with co-writing and production by Williams—for her fourth studio album ''Bangerz'' (2013) but did not make the final tracklist. Pharrell Lanscilo Williams (; born April 5, 1973), also known mononymously as Pharrell, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, and fashion designer. He first became known as one half of the music production duo the Neptunes, which he formed with Chad Hugo in 1992. 15 of The Neptunes production discography, their productions have peaked within the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, which includes four songs that peaked atop the chart. The two also formed the Rock music, rock and hip-hop band N.E.R.D. with Shay Haley in 1999, for which Williams served as lead vocalist.
