Cemal Azmi
Cemal Azmi (1868 – April 17, 1922), also spelled Jemal Azmi, was an Ottoman Empire, Ottoman Turkish people, Turkish politician and governor of the Trebizond Vilayet, Trebizond (now Trabzon) Vilayet (province) during World War I and the final years of the Ottoman Empire. He was one of the perpetrators of the Armenian genocide and was mainly responsible for the liquidation of Armenians in Trebizond Vilayet. He was known as the "butcher of Trebizond". Family Cemal Azmi was born in Arapgir, Ottoman Empire, in 1868. His father, Osman Nuri Bey, was a title agent and his mother's name was Gülsüm. In 1891 he studied at the ''Mulkiye Mektep''. Role in the Armenian genocide Azmi was one of the founders of the Teşkilât-ı Mahsusa (Special Organization). Djemal Pasha
Ahmed Djemal (; ; 6 May 1872 – 21 July 1922), also known as Djemal Pasha or Cemâl Pasha, was an Ottoman military leader and one of the Three Pashas that ruled the Ottoman Empire during World War I. As an officer of the II Corps, he was stationed in Salonica where he developed political sympathies for the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) reformers. He was initially praised by Christian missionaries and provided support to the Armenian victims of the Adana massacres. In the course of his army career Cemal developed a rivalry with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, served in Salonica on the frontlines of the Balkan Wars and was given the martial law command of Constantinople after the Raid on the Sublime Porte. Jemal Gokieli ( ka, ჯემალ გოკიელი; July 4, 1920 – April 14, 1991) was a Georgian conductor. Biography Jemal (Djemal) Gokieli was born on 4 July 1920 in Kutaisi, Western Georgia into the family of a prominent Georgian composer . In his childhood he used to play on organ in the Catholic church of Kutaisi. In the 1940s he studied conducting at Tbilisi and Moscow Conservatories where his tutors were Odysseas Dimitriadi, Grigori Stoliarov and Aleksandr Gauk. From 1944 until 1948 he worked as a conductor at Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 1948 until his death on 14 April 1991 he was a conductor of the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra. During his career he held more than 1100 concerts as in his native Tbilisi and other Georgian towns but also in many different places of the Soviet Union, like Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other Russian cities, as well as in all former Soviet Republics. Being a native of Georgia's autonomous republic of Abkhazia and a member of the local legislature since 1991, Gamakharia was forced, along with most of the region's Georgian population, to flee the secessionist victory in Abkhazia in 1993.
