Anne Ditchburn (born October 4, 1949) is a Canadian ballet dancer, choreographer, and film actress headlining films like 1979's ''Slow Dancing in the Big City'' as a dancer with a crippling disease, a film directed by ''Rocky'' director John G. Avildsen and co-starring Paul Sorvino . She also played the doomed ballet dancer Laurian Summers in the 1983 cult horror film ''Curtains'' with John Vernon and Samantha Eggar. She danced in nearly all of her film credits, and earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work in ''Slow Dancing in the Big City''. In her time with the National she choreographed some of its most distinguished pieces of the 1970s, including ''Mad Shadows'' and ''Kisses'', while also heading side company Ballet Revue. Ross Ditchburn (born 18 March 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Western Australian National Football League and the Victorian Football League. From a prominent farming family in the small Western Australian wheatbelt community of Kukerin, Ditchburn moved to Perth in the mid-1970s, where he played WANFL football for Claremont. Between 1975 and 1980, Ditchburn played a total of 110 senior games for Claremont as a forward. He left the league at the end of 1980, and returned to work at the family farm in Kukerin. During the 1981 season, he served as captain-coach of the Kukerin Football Club in the Central Great Southern Football League. Ditchburn had been signed by the VFL's Carlton Football Club during the 1970s, tying him to the club if he ever chose to move to Victoria. Albert James Ditchburn (24 August 1908 – 7 March 1964) was an Australian sportsman who represented Western Australia in both Australian rules football and first-class cricket. He played and coached in the Western Australian National Football League (WANFL) during the 1930s Ditchburn, who was born in the Western Australian goldfields, started his league career in 1929 with Subiaco. He crossed to South Fremantle in 1932 and put together 93 games for the club, during which time made the first of his ten interstate football appearances with Western Australia. Used by his state both in the ruck and as a half forward flanker, Ditchburn twice captained Western Australia to wins over South Australia in 1938. By then he was at his third WANFL club, Swan Districts, who had secured his services as captain-coach prior to the 1937 season.
