Digeo
Moxi was a line of High-definition video, high-definition digital video recorders produced by Moxi Digital Digeo and Arris International. Moxi was originally released only to cable operators, but in December 2008 it was released as a retail product. Moxi was removed from the market in November 2011. The former retail product, the Moxi HD DVR, provided a high-definition user interface with support for either two or three CableCARD TV tuners. Arris also offered a companion appliance, the Moxi Mate, which could stream live or recorded TV from a Moxi HD DVR. Arris International
Arris International Limited (styled as ARRIS) was an American telecommunications equipment company engaged in data, video and telephony systems for homes and businesses. On April 4, 2019, Arris was acquired by network infrastructure provider CommScope. Arris now is a brand name by CommScope. History Originally named Arris Interactive, the company was founded in 1995 in England and Wales as a joint venture between Nortel Networks and Antec Corp. The Slingbox was a TV streaming media device made by Sling Media that encoded local video for transmission over the Internet to a remote device (sometimes called placeshifting). Dreambox is a series of Linux-powered Digital Video Broadcasting, DVB DVB-S, satellite, DVB-T, terrestrial and DVB-C, cable digital television receivers (set-top boxes), produced by Germany, German multimedia vendor Dream Multimedia. History and description The Linux-based production software originally used by Dreambox was originally developed for DBox2, by the Tuxbox project. The Dbox2 was a proprietary design distributed by Kirch Group#KirchMedia, KirchMedia for their Pay television, pay TV services. The bankruptcy of KirchMedia flooded the market with unsold boxes available for Linux enthusiasts. The DBox is a Digital Video Broadcasting, DVB DVB-S, satellite and DVB-C, cable digital television integrated receiver decoder (set-top box). They were distributed widely for use with Pay TV, Pay television channels. It was commissioned by the Kirch group's DF1, an early Germany, German provider of digital television that later merged with Premiere (pay television network), Premiere. The hardware was developed and produced by Nokia though later also produced by Philips and Sagem under license. Overview Unlike standard set-top box (or set-top unit) appliances, the HDHomeRun does not have a video output that connects directly to the user's television. Sony's LocationFree is the marketing name for a group of products and technologies for timeshifting and placeshifting streaming video. The LocationFree Player is an Internet-based multifunctional device used to stream live television broadcasts (including digital cable and satellite), DVDs and DVR content over a home network or the Internet.
