Edwin Dibrell Williams (January 19, 1910 – April 2, 1992) was an American professional baseball infielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1930 to 1935 with the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. Listed at and , he batted and threw right-handed. Biography Williams was born in 1910 in Greenbrier, Arkansas, and attended Hendrix College and Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University). At Hendrix, he played college basketball, college football, and competed in track and field. At Oklahoma A&M, he played on the non-varsity baseball team in 1928, was a quarterback on the football team—earning a varsity letter in 1926, 1927, and 1928—and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Billel Dib (born on 26 May 1989) is an Australian professional boxer who has held the WBA Oceania super-featherweight title since 2018, and now also holds the International Boxing Federation Australasian super featherweight title. Billel Dib has held many titles such as the Australian title 2 times and the World Boxing Organization Oriental titles. Early life and education Dib was born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 26 May 1989, into a Lebanese-Australian family. His parents emigrated to Australia from Lebanon. Bilal Dib (born 17 August 1985), known as Billy Dib, is an Australian professional boxer. He held the IBF featherweight title from 2011 to 2013, and the IBO super-featherweight title in 2008. Early years Dib was born on 17 August 1985 at Kogarah Hospital in Sydney. He has suffered from chronic asthma since birth, and he spent the first six months of his life in an incubator fighting the ailment. He took up boxing at the age of 12 to try to overcome the condition. His parents had emigrated to Australia from Lebanon, and owned a small greengrocer store in Engadine, where he grew up. Jihad Dib (born 1973) is an Australian politician who was elected at the 2015 New South Wales state election to the Legislative Assembly as the member for Lakemba representing the Labor Party. He was the only Muslim MP to represent the Lakemba seat which had the highest proportion of Muslims in NSW and the first Muslim MP in the NSW lower house. Mohammed Dib ( ar, محمد ديب; 21 July 1920 – 2 May 2003) was an Algerian author. He wrote over 30 novels, as well as numerous short stories, poems, and children's literature in the French language. He is probably Algeria's most prolific and well-known writer. His work covers the breadth of 20th century Algerian history, focusing on Algeria's fight for independence. Life Dib was born in Tlemcen in Algeria, near the border with Morocco, into a middle-class family which had descended into poverty. After losing his father at a young age, Dib started writing poetry at 15. At the age of 18, he started working as a teacher in nearby Oujda in Morocco. Pietro Dib (13 June 1881 in Dlepta, Lebanon – 4 November 1965) was a Maronite bishop of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Cairo. Life Pietro Dib received his ordination to the priesthood on 16 March 1907. In 1946 he was appointed by Pope Pius XII as Titular Bishop of Tarsus of Maronites and Bishop of the Eparchy of Cairo for the Maronites. His episcopal ordination was on July 5, 1946 and Dib was ordained bishop by Roman Catholic Archbishop of Lille, France, Achille Liénart; his co-consecrators were Jean-Julien Weber, Society of Saint-Sulpice, Bishop of Strasbourg, and Auguste Joseph Gaudel, Bishop of Fréjus. On 30 July of the same year Dib was appointed bishop to the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Cairo. Bishop Dib died on 4 November 1965.
