''Diana!'' is the first solo television special of American singer Diana Ross and aired on ABC on April 18, 1971. The special was choreographed by David Winters of ''West Side Story'' fame, who at that time choreographed all of Ross' stage and television shows. The special featured performances by The Jackson 5, and also included Jackson 5 lead singer Michael Jackson's solo debut. Michael Jackson performed Frank Sinatra's " It Was a Very Good Year", which drew laughter as its adult-themed lyrics were changed to fit his age. Other guests included Danny Thomas and Bill Cosby, who would be featured on a similar television special by the Jackson 5 ('' Goin' Back to Indiana'') a few months later. ''Surrender'' is the third studio album by American singer Diana Ross, released on July 6, 1971 by Motown Records. The album saw her reuniting with writer-producer team Ashford & Simpson who had overseen her self-titled debut album in 1970. As with ''Diana Ross'', some of the tracks that Ross recorded with the duo had previously been recorded by other Motown artists, including Gladys Knight & the Pips ("Didn't You Know"), Martha Reeves & The Vandellas ("I'm A Winner"), Rita Wright ("I Can't Give Back The Love I Feel For You"), and the Four Tops (" Reach Out (I'll Be There)"). The Jackson 5
The Jackson 5, later known as the Jacksons, are an American pop band composed of members of the Jackson family. The group was formed in Gary, Indiana in 1964, and originally consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. They were managed by their father Joe Jackson. The group were among the first African American performers to attain a crossover following. The Jackson 5 first performed in talent shows and clubs on the Chitlin' Circuit and eventually signed with Steeltown Records in 1967, under which their first two singles were released. "Feelin' Alright?", also known as "Feeling Alright", is a song written by Dave Mason of the English rock band Traffic for their eponymous 1968 album ''Traffic''. It was also released as a single, and failed to chart on both the UK Singles Chart and the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, but it did reach a bubbling under position of #123 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100.
