Devils Tombstone or the Devil's Tombstone Park, is a park which is named for the large rock which lay at the center of the park, which is located in Greene County, New York. The park is part of the Catskill Mountain range, and located north-northeast of Edgewood. Plateau Mountain, is located east of Devils Tombstone, Sugarloaf Mountain, is located southeast, and Hunter Mountain is directly west. The Devil's Tombstone is one of the oldest parks in the Catskill Forest Preserve. Edgewood, New York
Hunter is a town located in Greene County, New York, United States. The population was 2,732 at the time of the 2010 census. The town contains three villages, one named Hunter on the west , another is Lanesville on the southern side of Hunter, and the third called Tannersville the largest and center of the town. The town is on the southern border of Greene County with Lanesville Village adjacent to Ulster County. The Hamlet of Haines Falls is on the east of the town. History The town was formed on January 27, 1813 from the town of Windham, but was then called "Edwardsville". The name of "Hunter" was assumed in 1814, named after John Hunter. Plateau Mountain is located in the town of Hunter in Greene County, New York, United States. It is part of the Devil's Path range of the Catskill Mountains. Sugarloaf Mountain ( pt, Pão de Açúcar, ) is a peak situated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the mouth of Guanabara Bay on a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Rising above the harbor, the peak is named for its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. It is known worldwide for its cableway and panoramic views of the city and beyond. The mountain is one of several monolithic granite and quartz mountains that rise straight from the water's edge around Rio de Janeiro. Hunter Mountain (New York)
Hunter Mountain is in the towns of Hunter and Lexington, just south of the village of Hunter, in Greene County, New York, United States. At approximately in elevation, it is the highest peak in the county and the second-highest peak in the Catskill Mountains. While the mountain is closely associated with the eponymous ski area built around the Colonel's Chair ridge at the mountain's northwest corner, that takes up only a small portion of the mountain. Catskill Park
The Catskill Park is in the Catskill Mountains in New York in the United States. It consists of of land inside a Blue Line in four counties: Delaware, Greene, Sullivan, and Ulster. As of 2005, or 41 percent of the land within, is owned by the state as part of the Forest Preserve; it is managed by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Another 5% is owned by New York City to protect four of the city's reservoirs in the region that lie partially within the park and their respective watersheds.
