James Webster (Australian Politician)
James Joseph Webster (14 June 1925 – 3 April 2022) was an Australian politician. He was a Australian Senate, Senator for Victoria (Australia), Victoria from 1964 to 1980, representing the National Country Party (NCP). He served as Department of Science (1975–78), Minister for Science (1975–1978) and Department of Science and the Environment, Science and the Environment (1978–1979) in the Fraser government. He left politics to become High Commissioner of Australia to New Zealand, High Commissioner to New Zealand, serving from 1980 to 1983. Hugh Ennor
Sir Arnold Hughes "Hugh" Ennor (10 October 1912 – 14 October 1977) was a senior Australian public servant and policymaker. Life and career Ennor was born in Melbourne, the son of a joiner. For schooling, he attended a local Catholic school, O'Neill College in Elsternwick, Victoria and later Melbourne Technical College. He graduated from the University of Melbourne as a Bachelor of Science with first class honours in 1938, achieving a Master of Science in 1939 and a Doctor of Science in 1944 at the same university. During the Second World War, Ennor was engaged by Australian Chemical Warfare Research in top secret trials in northern Queensland of mustard gas protective clothing and other counter-measures. He and fellow-biochemist J. W. Legge designed and oversaw the construction of a 100 cubic metre (3,500 cu ft) stainless-steel temperature-controlled gas chamber as part of these experiments. Dr John Law Farrands (11 March 1921 – 14 July 1996) was a scientist and senior Australian Public Servant. Life and career John Farrands was born on 11 March 1921 in Melbourne. He studied part-time at University of Melbourne for his Bachelor of Science, majoring in physics and mathematics. Farrands was the Chief Defence Scientist and he was Secretary of the Australian Government science department between 1977 and 1981.
