Dennis Ruprecht
Dennis Michael Ruprecht Jr. is a former New Hampshire politician who was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from December 5, 2018, to December 17, 2021. Early life and education Ruprecht was born on May 15, 1999, in Littleton, New Hampshire, and grew up in Bath, New Hampshire. He graduated from Woodsville High School in 2017, and that same year was chosen for the United States Senate Youth Program. After graduating from Woodsville High School, Ruprecht enrolled at the University of New Hampshire where he was a member of Phi Mu Delta. Ruprecht then briefly attended Saint Michael's College before transferring to Plymouth State University where he graduated ''summa cum laude'' with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2021. Phi Mu Delta () is a national fraternity founded on March 1, 1918, at the Universities of Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The fraternity is focused on the ideals of democracy, service, and brotherhood. History Phi Mu Delta was originally derived from the National Federation of Commons Clubs (NFCC), which had formed at Wesleyan University in 1899. Rumblings of interest toward forming a Greek letter organization were the subject of extensive correspondence between chapters in 1917 and 1918. Clarence Dexter Pierce, one of the fraternity's founders, petitioned the NFCC to form a Greek letter fraternity at its 1918 NFCC meeting. Death Penalty In New Hampshire
Capital punishment was abolished in 2019 in New Hampshire for persons convicted of capital murder. It remains a legal penalty for crimes committed prior to May 30, 2019. On May 30, 2019, the New Hampshire Senate voted 16–8 to override Governor Chris Sununu's veto of House Bill 455, which changed the punishment of capital murder from capital punishment to life in prison. Earlier, on April 26, the New Hampshire House of Representatives had voted 247–123 to override the veto. In both chambers, the measure to override the governor's veto passed by a single vote to secure the two thirds majority required.
