Deathstars is a Swedish Industrial metal music, industrial metal band from Strömstad. Formed in 2000, the group are noted for their dark Horror fiction, horror-themed lyrics, pessimistic and misanthropic social commentary, distinctive trademark face paint, dark stage uniforms and physical appearances that correspond to gothic fashion. They have released five full-length studio albums; ''Synthetic Generation'' (2002), ''Termination Bliss'' (2006), ''Night Electric Night'' (2009), ''The Perfect Cult'' (2014), and ''Everything Destroys You'' (2023). The band's current lineup consists of lead guitarist Nightmare Industries, lead vocalist Whiplasher Bernadotte, bassist Skinny Disco, rhythm guitarist Cat Casino and drummer Nitro. ''Everything Destroys You'' is the fifth studio album by the Swedish industrial metal band Deathstars. It was released on 5 May 2023 via Nuclear Blast, and the band's first album since 2014's ''The Perfect Cult''. Reception The album was met with moderately positive reviews, with Blabbermouth.net ''Blabbermouth.net'' is a website dedicated to metal and rock news, as well as album and music DVD reviews. It is run by the website's founder Borivoj Krgin. The first version of the website was launched in March 2001. In October 2001, the rec ... rating it 7/10, saying that the album "has plenty of the succinct, goth-metal anthems that Deathstars have generally excelled at." Ole Öhman
Ole Christian Öhman (born 13 October 1973), also known as Bone W. Machine, is a Swedish drummer who was a member of the metal bands Dissection from 1990 to 1995, Ophthalamia from 1995 to 1998, and Deathstars from 2000 to 2011. He appeared on two studio albums with Dissection and Ophthalamia and three albums with Deathstars. Career Öhman joined Dissection in 1990 and played drums on the band's 1993 debut album ''The Somberlain''. He appeared on their sophomore album, '' Storm of the Light's Bane'', before leaving the band in 1995. That same year, Öhman joined Emil Nödtveidt in the bands Swordmaster and Ophthalamia. In 2000, the pair formed the band Deathstars. The band released their debut album, ''Synthetic Generation'', in 2002, followed by their sophomore album, ''Termination Bliss'', in 2006. The Perfect Cult
''The Perfect Cult'' is the fourth studio album by the Swedish metal band Deathstars. It was released on 13 June 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Track listing Background In an interview with New Noise magazine, frontman Whiplasher Bernadotte was asked what the band did differently in this album. Bernadotte responded saying that "It's different in a lot of ways, for example it's also not as outgoing as the previous ones. It's more personal this time. Private. It's not party darkness, more personal darkness. Also it's more synth oriented sound wise and has a slower pace throughout the material." and describing the music as "European audiosex". When asked about recording Bernadotte explains how some songs were "written just a few months before we entered the studio", whereas others have "been ready for several years".
