Felicia Adeyoyin
Felicia Adebola Adeyoyin (6 November 1938 – 1 May 2021) was a University of Lagos professor and a princess from the Iji ruling house of Saki, Oyo State. She was the author of the Nigerian national pledge. Early life Felicia Awujoola was born on 6 November 1938 in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. She attended Idi-Aba a Christian Baptist School from 1953 and graduated in 1957 from its teacher programme. In 1965 she married Solomon Adedeji Adeyoyin, who had attended Idi-Aba's brother school, the Baptist Boys' High School. Education She received her Bachelor's Degree with honors in Geography from Birkbeck, University of London in 1968 and then her Diploma of Education at the same university in 1976, followed by an M.A. in Social Studies from Columbia University, New York in 1977, before finally earning her PhD in 1981 from the University of Lagos. Helen Murray Free (February 20, 1923 – May 1, 2021) was an American chemist and educator. She is most known for revolutionizing many in vitro self-testing systems for diabetes and other diseases while working at Miles Laboratories. The tests are still marketed today with blood tests as Ascensia Diabetes Care, and urine tests under Siemens Healthineers. The pioneering dip-and-read strips, allowed for testing to be more convenient and efficient, enabling doctors and patients to be less reliable to laboratories for results. Jean Fontaine (2 December 1936 – 1 May 2021) was a French writer, theologian, and missionary. Biography In 1953, Fontaine earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics. On 15 September 1955, he left for Algeria as part of the White Fathers. From 1956 to 1957, he studied theology at Saint-Joseph de Thibar in Tunisia before becoming a teacher in Algeria. He then took three years of theology courses in Carthage and Arabic studied in Manouba from 1962 to 1964. From 1964 to 1965, he completed his Arabic studies at the Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies in Rome. In 1968, he obtained a licentiate in Arabic from Tunis University.
