David Barrufet
David Barrufet Bofill (born 4 June 1970 in Barcelona, Spain) is a former Spanish handball goalkeeper and current handball coach. Until 2021 he had the record for most matches for the Spanish national team until he was overtaken by Alberto Entrerríos. He played his entire career for FC Barcelona. He is considered one of the best goalkeepers of all time. , and in 2001 he came second World best player voting. He began playing handball in SAFA Horta school in Barcelona at 8 years old. Six years later, he went to FC Barcelona for playing in younger categories till 1988, when he played with the professional team. On 8 February 2010, Barrufet announced his retirement from handball at the end of the 2009-10 season and F.C. Barcelona decided to retire the shirt number 16 on his honor. Valero Rivera López
Valero Rivera López (born 14 February 1953) is a Spanish handball coach and former player. He is a world champion from the 2013 World Championship where he coached the Spanish national team. He played for and has coached FC Barcelona and is considered a club legend. In 2012 he was named the best men's coach in the world by the International Handball Federation. He is the father of fellow handballer Valero Rivera Folch, who he has also coached. Playing career Valero Rivera played his entire career for Barcelona. Handball Goalkeeper
The handball goalkeeper is the most defensive player of their team. Their main task is to prevent the other team from scoring a goal. Equipment To avoid confusion, a handball goalkeeper must wear a jersey that is different in colour to all the other jerseys of the players on the field, including the other team's goalkeeper. If such a jersey is not available the goalkeeper must wear a bib (garment), bib that guarantees sufficient distinction between players involved. Most goalkeepers also wear special long trousers and male goalkeepers always wear a jockstrap (an undergarment serving protection purposes).
