Darryl Strawberry
Darryl Eugene Strawberry Sr. (born March 12, 1962) is an American former professional baseball right fielder who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). Throughout his career, Strawberry was one of the most feared sluggers in the sport, known for his prodigious home runs and his intimidating presence in the batter's box with his frame and his long, looping swing that elicited comparisons to Ted Williams. Strawberry, who was nicknamed "the Straw Man" or "Straw", helped lead the New York Mets to a World Series championship in and the New York Yankees to two World Series championships in and . He was also suspended three times by MLB for substance abuse, leading to many narratives about his massive potential going unfulfilled. A right fielder, abbreviated RF, is the outfielder in baseball or softball who plays defense in right field. Right field is the area of the outfield to the right of a person standing at home plate and facing towards the pitcher's mound. New York Mets Hall Of Fame
The New York Mets Hall of Fame was created in order to recognize the careers of former New York Mets players, managers, broadcasters and executives. There are presently 30 members. Originally located in the Diamond Club at Shea Stadium, the inductees were honored with plaques in the Mets Hall of Fame and Museum at Citi Field, which opened in April 2010. In Citi Field's first season, 2009, the space was part of the Mets Team Store. Following the 2023 season, the Hall of Fame was moved to the Field Level of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda while the museum was closed to expand the Team Store. The museum reopened in a smaller space near the Bullpen Gate in 2024. Crenshaw High School
Crenshaw High School is a four-year public secondary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District, located on 11th Avenue in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The school first opened in 1968 and currently enrolls around 750 students. History and background Crenshaw High School opened in January 1968. The school drew students from several neighborhoods, including Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Crenshaw, as well as a few other neighborhoods. Theodore Samuel Williams (August 30, 1918 – July 5, 2002) was an American professional baseball player and manager.
