The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan () is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King of Canada. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through block voting. Batoche (electoral District)
Batoche is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located in north central Saskatchewan and has an economy based primarily on mixed agriculture and farm implement manufacturing. Bourgault Industries in St. Brieux manufactures harrows, cultivators, ploughs. The Batoche area is where Louis Riel led his Metis people in an armed uprising against the Canadian government in the North-West Rebellion of 1885. The Batoche National Historic Site and the location of the Battle of Batoche are in this constituency. The largest communities are Birch Hills, Wakaw and Cudworth with populations of 935, 884, and 766, respectively. The 2024 Saskatchewan general election was held on October 28, 2024, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The incumbent Saskatchewan Party government, led by Premier Scott Moe since 2018, sought re-election to a fifth consecutive term. The Saskatchewan Party's primary opponent, the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) led by Carla Beck, sought to lead the NDP to its first government since 2007. This was the first general election to feature the Saskatchewan United Party (SUP). The Saskatchewan Party won enough seats to form its fifth consecutive majority government, claiming the majority of rural ridings. Saskatchewan Rivers School Division
The Saskatchewan Rivers School Division #119 comprises 33 schools in the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan area, and is the third largest school division in the province. This division has over 9500 students enrolled, with 365 support personnel, 475 teachers, and 88 division owned buses (2200 kids ride the bus every day). There are a total of 14 microwave towers in the rural centres of the district, which ensure that rural students have access to high speed networking. There are six community schools, and three schools providing French immersion. A police liaison program is provided in the urban centre where the officer has a school office. MacDowall, Saskatchewan is an organized hamlet in Duck Lake No. 463 Saskatchewan, Canada. The hamlet is located approximately 30 km southwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and is situated on the northern edge of the Nisbet Provincial Forest, adjacent to the Louis Riel Trail also known as Highway 11. It is a short distance northwest of the village of St. Louis, and just west of Red Deer Hill. MacDowall is located in the aspen parkland biome. The hamlet was named for Day Hort MacDowall, an early territorial politician in the district during the 19th century. Originally heavily forested, the region was settled slowly during the early twentieth century, largely by settlers from Eastern Europe and Britain.
