Danube-Iller Regional S-Bahn
The Danube-Iller Regional S-Bahn (''Regio-S-Bahn Donau-Iller'') is a "regional" S-Bahn system in the Ulm and Neu-Ulm area. It operates Regionalbahn services on electrified and non-electrified lines. Its core is Ulm Hauptbahnhof, which acts as a hub between the regional S-Bahn (RS) lines, other regional services and long-distance services. In December 2020, the first two RS lines from Ulm to Memmingen (RS 7) and Weißenhorn (RS 71) were put into operation in the Bavarian part of the Danube-Iller planning region (''Region Donau-Iller''). When the 2021/2022 timetable changed, three more lines followed in the Württemberg part of the region on the Ulm–Friedrichshafen railway, southern railway to Biberach an der Riß, Biberach (RS 2 and RS 21), on the Ulm–Sigmaringen railway, Danube line to Munderkingen (RS 3) and on the Brenz Railway to Aalen (RS 5 and RS 51). DB Regio AG () is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn which operates regional and commuter train services in Germany. Niederstotzingen
Niederstotzingen () is a small city in the district of Heidenheim in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated 17 km southeast of Heidenheim, and 24 km northeast of Ulm. The city consists of four sections or villages; Niederstotzingen, Oberstotzingen, Stetten ob Lontal and the combined section Lontal und Reuendorf. There are 4,850 inhabitants. History Vogelherdhöhle The region around Niederstotzingen has been inhabited since pre-historic times. Finds of mammoth ivory carvings in the area have been dated to 35,000 BC. The main source of these carvings is the '' Vogelherdhöhle'', a cave near modern Niederstotzingen which may have been used as a rest area and shelter for nearly 30,000 years. The cave was discovered in 1931 by a senior railroad clerk and historian, Hermann Mohn, as he explored the hills above the city. The Fils Valley Railway (, historically ''Filsbahn'' or ''Württembergische Ostbahn''—Württemberg Eastern Railway) designates the Württemberg line from Stuttgart via Göppingen to Ulm. Geislingen (Steige) Station
Geislingen (Steige) station is located at the 61.3 kilometre point of the Fils Valley Railway in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Until May 2000, there was a connection for freight to Geislingen-Altenstadt, a remnant of the former Geislingen an der Steige–Wiesensteig railway, railway to Wiesensteig. Amstetten (Württemberg) station (officially Amstetten (Württ)) is located at line-kilometre 67.0 on the Fils Valley Railway (''Filstalbahn'') in Amstetten in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Riedlingen () is a town in the district (''Kreis'') of Biberach, Baden-Württemberg, in the south-west of Germany. It is one of the destinations of the Upper Swabian Baroque Route.
