Christian Danning
Sophus Christian Danning (16 June 1867 – 7 November 1925) was a Danish composer and conductor. From 1898 to 1907 he worked in Bergen as a conductor for the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Den Nationale Scene, and from 1907 to 1914 he conducted at Fahlstrøms Theater. He also wrote operas such as ''Kynthia'' in 1903 and operettes such as ''Columbine'' in 1912. From 1914 to 1923 he conducted for Odense City Orchestra. Harry Danning (nicknamed Harry the Horse; September 6, 1911 – November 29, 2004) was an American professional baseball player. He played his entire Major League Baseball career as a catcher for the New York Giants, and was considered to be both an excellent hitter and one of the top defensive catchers of his era. He batted and threw right-handed, and was a member of the National League All-Star team for four consecutive years, 1938-41. Early and personal life Danning was born in Los Angeles to Jewish parents: his father, Robert Danning, was a Polish immigrant and owned a used-furniture store; his mother, Jennie Danning (née Goldberg), was a Latvian immigrant. Biography Early life Danning was born in Kumasi in southern central Ghana.
