Danna International (Offer Nissim Presents)
''Danna International (Offer Nissim Presents)'' is the first album by Israeli singer Dana International, released in 1993. In her early days it was common to see her first name spelt "Danna". The album's catalogue number is IMP Dance 1993 - IMP 2004, although quite a few copies of the album misprint the catalogue number as "IMP 4004" on the CD label. The album has covers of Baccara's popular 1970s disco hit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" and the Queen song "The Show Must Go On" sung in Hebrew, with the chorus in English. The song "Fata Morgana" appears on this album in two different versions. Singer Ofra Haza and the Austrian band Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung recorded totally different songs each with the same name. Dana International
Sharon Cohen ( he, שרון כהן; born 2 February 1969), professionally known as Dana International ( he, דנה אינטרנשיונל), is an Israeli pop singer. She has released eight albums and three additional compilation albums. She was the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham with the song " Diva". After consolidating her initial commercial success with the albums ''Umpatampa'' (1994) and '' Maganuna'' (1996), she was selected in 1998 to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Diva". Placing first at the international competition, she came to public attention throughout Europe. Dana following up this success with the albums ''Free'' (1999), '' Yoter VeYoter'' (2001), '' HaHalom HaEfshari'' (2002) and '' Hakol Ze Letova'' (2007), she represented Israel in Eurovision a second time in 2011, this time with the song " Ding Dong", which failed to make it into the final. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. ''Umpatampa'' is the second studio album by Israeli singer Dana International, released on the IMP Dance label in 1994 with the catalogue number is IMP 2012-2. There are four slightly different editions of this album, all confusingly with the same catalogue number: * The first edition of the album contained only 12 tracks as it was released before "Layla Tov, Eropa" ("Good Evening, Europe") was recorded. * The second edition does not include "Layla Tov, Eropa" in the track listing - but a yellow sticker in Hebrew on the cover misguidingly claims that it does. * Two 13 track re-releases do include "Layla Tov, Eropa", the only difference being that one cover has a yellow horizontal line through Dana's hair on the front cover. Baccara
Baccara was a female vocal duo formed in 1977 by Spanish artists Mayte Mateos (born 7 February 1951) and María Mendiola (4 April 1952 – 11 September 2021). The duo rapidly achieved international success with their debut single " Yes Sir, I Can Boogie", which reached number one across much of Europe and became the best-selling single of all-time by a female group, eventually selling more than 18 million copies worldwide. A successful follow-up single (" Sorry, I'm a Lady") and European tour led to a number of album releases, numerous television appearances and the duo's selection to represent Luxembourg in the '' Eurovision Song Contest 1978''. Queen (band)
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals) and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock. Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung
The ''EAV'' (Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung, German for "First General Confusion/Uncertainty/'Uninsurance'") was an Austrian band which was formed in 1977 and disbanded in 2019. Nino Holm first established a band called "Anti-Pasta", but it was not successful and it dissolved after three years. Holm then decided together with his friend Thomas Spitzer to create a new band. While they were undecided on a name, they saw a bus stop in a branch of "Erste Allgemeine Versicherung" ("First General Insurance"), abbreviated EAV, and so they came to the name "Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung-EAV". They initially faced legal difficulty in Austria due to the (obviously intended) similarity of their band name to that of the corporation " Erste Allgemeine Versicherung".
