''Dance Mother'' is the debut album of the synthpop duo Telepathe. It was released on January 26, 2009 via IAMSOUND Records and Cooperative Records. The album was produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio. The US releases of the album contain 3 extra tracks: So Fine (Chairlift remix), Devil's Trident (The Big Pink Specialization Reality) and Michael (Atticus Ross remix). Telepathe (pronounced ''telepathy'' and meant with some literal meaning) are an electronic pop duo from Brooklyn consisting of core members Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais. The band also includes other occasional musicians, such as Ryan Lucero. Telepathe has toured with the Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas, in addition to friend DJ Diplo, Ladytron and The Faint. Iamsound (stylized IAMSOUND; formerly Iamsound Records) is an American entertainment company based in Los Angeles and founded by Niki Roberton. Iamsound comprises a creative and marketing studio, visual artist management firm, and independent record label. Record label Iamsound launched as a record label in 2007, and released albums from artists including Florence and the Machine, Charli XCX, Lord Huron, Banks, and Salem. Dave Sitek
David Andrew Sitek (born September 6, 1972) is an American musician and record producer, known for his work with his band TV on the Radio. He has also worked with bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, Foals, Celebration, Little Dragon, Wavves, Beady Eye, and Weezer, and produced free jazz-influenced remixes of songs by artists such as Beck and Nine Inch Nails, and has contributed a solo track to the Red Hot Organization '' Dark Was the Night'' charity compilation. He is also a photographer and painter. In April 2008, Sitek was named number one in ''NMEs Future 50 list of the most forward thinking people in music today. Chairlift (band)
Chairlift was an American synth-pop band formed by Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning. They formed the band in 2005 while living in Boulder, Colorado, and Patrick Wimberly joined them when they moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 2007. The three released their debut album '' Does You Inspire You'' in 2008. Pfenning left the band in 2010, and the new duo released two more albums—2012's ''Something'' and 2016's ''Moth''—before announcing the end of Chairlift in December 2016. Atticus Matthew Cowper Ross (born 16 January 1968) is an English musician, composer, record producer, and audio engineer. He is best known for his work with American musician Trent Reznor, with whom he first worked on the musical project Tapeworm in 2002.
