Dale Milford
Dale Milford (February 18, 1926 – December 26, 1997) was a U.S. Representative from Texas. He was born in Bug Tussle, Texas, and attended its public schools, then Baylor University in Waco from 1953 to 1957. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1953, attaining the rank of captain. Milford was a consultant in aviation and meteorology prior to going to Congress and operated a commercial flight service as well, until 1958. From 1953-58, Milford was a staff meteorologist for KWTX-TV in Waco, then moved into the major markets in the same capacity at WFAA-TV from 1958-71. He was a delegate to the Texas State Democratic convention of 1972. Milford was elected as a Democrat to the 93rd, 94th, and 95th Congresses. He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1978 to the 96th Congress. He was a resident of Howe, Texas, until his death there on December 26, 1997. Texas' 24th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives covers much of the suburban area in between Fort Worth and Dallas in the state of Texas and centers along the Dallas County, Texas, Dallas–Tarrant County, Texas, Tarrant county line. The district has about 529,000 potential voters (citizens, age 18+). Of these, 57% are White, 16% Latino, 14% Black, and 10% Asian. Immigrants make up 4% of the district's potential voters. KWTX-TV (channel 10) is a television station in Waco, Texas, United States, serving Central Texas as an affiliate of CBS and Telemundo. It is owned by Gray Media alongside Belton-licensed CW affiliate KNCT (channel 46). The two stations share studios on American Plaza in Waco; KWTX-TV's transmitter is located near Moody, Texas. KWTX-TV offers Telemundo programming on its second digital subchannel. This subchannel started on January 23, 2006, as an UPN affiliate ("UPN Waco") and changed its branding to "CW 12 Central Texas" on September 15, 2006. The subchannel switched to Telemundo on January 2, 2019, after Gray Television moved its CW affiliation to former PBS member station KNCT, which it had just acquired from Central Texas College.
