Daisy W. Okocha
Daisy Wotube Okocha (born 15 January 1951) is a Nigerian judge who served as the 7th Chief Judge of Rivers State, and is in charge of the state's Rivers State High Court of Justice, High Court of Justice, and Rivers State Judicial Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission. She was appointed to the office by Governor of Rivers State, Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, Ezenwo Wike on 4 January 2016, and held it until her retirement on 15 January 2016. She had also served as Chief Judge of Rivers State, Chief Judge in an acting capacity before attaining the substantive appointment. Early life and education Okocha was born on 15 January 1951 in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State, Nigeria. She is of the Ikwerre people, Ikwerre tribe. Her father, Jonathan Okocha, was a former police commissioner and her mother, Helen Nonyelum Okocha, was a caterer. Daisy received her LL.B. (Hons.) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978. Ezenwo Wike
Ezenwo Nyesom Wike (born 13 December 1964) is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who has served as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory since 2023. He previously served as the governor of Rivers State from 2015 to 2023. He is an Ikwerre man from Rumuepirikom in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and was graduated from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology. Wike was elected as a two-term Executive Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area from 1999 to 2007. He was appointed Minister of State for Education on 14 July 2011. Wike was later appointed the Acting Minister of Education, after Ruqayyah Ahmed Rufa'i was sacked but resigned before finishing his term to campaign for governor of Rivers State. The Judiciary of Rivers State is a branch of the Government of Rivers State that has sole authority and responsibility for the interpretation and application of the state's laws as well as the adjudication of disputes or controversies.
