César Montes
César Jasib Montes Castro (born 24 February 1997), also known as El Cachorro, is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for La Liga club Espanyol and the Mexico national team. Club career Monterrey During a youth league playoff match with Pob. Miguel Alemán against Monterrey, he caught the attention of the opposing team. He was eventually brought onto Monterrey's youth team and on 2 August 2015, Montes played his first match with Monterrey against Portuguese team Benfica on the inauguration of the Estadio BBVA Bancomer. Montes came in as a substitute for the second half, and at the 48th minute he scored the first ever-goal in the Estadio BBVA Bancomer. Monterrey defeated Benfica 3–0. The Mexico national under-23 football team (also known as Mexico Olympic football team) represents Mexico in under-23 international football competitions such as the Olympic Games and Pan American Games. The selection is limited to players under the age of 23, except for the Olympic Games which allows the men's team up to three overage players. The Clausura 2016 Liga MX championship stage commonly known as ''liguilla'' (mini league) was being played from May 11, 2016 to May 29, 2016. A total of eight teams were competing in the championship stage to decide the champions of the Clausura 2016 Liga MX season. Both finalists qualified to the 2016–17 CONCACAF Champions League. Rogelio Gabriel Funes Mori (born 5 March 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga MX club Monterrey. Born in Argentina, he represents the Mexico national team. Clásico Regiomontano, Clásico Regio, Clásico del Norte or Clásico Norteño is a football derby in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, between crosstown rival teams Monterrey and Tigres. Since the first Clásico in 1974, the two teams have competed over 100 times for bragging rights and city honour. 2019–20 Copa MX
The 2019–20 Copa MX was the 82nd staging of the Copa MX, the 54th staging in the professional era and the fifteenth tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. The tournament started on 30 July 2019 and ended on 4 November 2020. It marked the first year since it was restored in 2012 that only one tournament will be played in the Mexican football year. The 2019–20 Liga MX season (known as the Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons) was the 73rd professional season of the top-flight football league in Mexico. The season was divided into two championships—the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura—each in an identical format and each contested by the same nineteen teams. The Apertura tournament began on 19 July 2019.
