Crimen (film)
''Crimen'' (also known as ...And Suddenly It's Murder! and Killing in Monte Carlo) is a 1960 Italian whodunit-comedy movie by Mario Camerini. The movie had two remakes: the first, ''Io non vedo, tu non parli, lui non sente'', was directed by the same Camerini in 1971 and starred Gastone Moschin, Enrico Montesano and Alighiero Noschese, the second, ''Once Upon a Crime'', was filmed in 1992 by Eugene Levy and has John Candy and James Belushi in the main roles. It was also remade in Hindi titled 36 China Town. Plot Five people, all united by the fact of being on a train to Monte Carlo, will find themselves being involved in the murder of an elderly millionaire of Dutch origin, a regular guest of the glamorous Riviera location. Mario Camerini
Mario Camerini (6 February 1895 – 4 February 1981) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. The cousin of Augusto Genina, he made the most well-known films in Italy during the 1930s, most of them comedies starring Vittorio De Sica. He directed about 50 films till 1972, including ''Ulysses'' with American stars Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn, one of the first Europe/U.S.A. film coproductions. He died in 1981 in Gardone Rivera, Italy. John Candy
John Franklin Candy (October 31, 1950 – March 4, 1994) was a Canadian actor and comedian known mainly for his work in Hollywood films. Candy rose to fame in the 1970s as a member of the Toronto branch of the Second City and its '' SCTV'' series, and through his appearances in comedy films, including '' Stripes'' (1981), '' Splash'' (1984), '' Summer Rental'' (1985), ''Spaceballs'' (1987), '' Uncle Buck'' (1989) and ''Cool Runnings'' (1993), portraying Chester "Chet" Ripley in ''She's Having a Baby'' and '' The Great Outdoors'' (both 1988), as well as more dramatic roles in '' Only the Lonely'' and '' JFK'' (both 1991). Alma Franca Maria Norsa (31 July 1920 – 9 August 2020), known professionally as Franca Valeri, was an Italian actress, playwright, screenwriter, author, and theatre director. Life and career Born in Milan as Alma Franca Maria Norsa, she managed to survive the Holocaust in Milan with her non-Jewish mother due to a fake I.D. which purported her to be the illegitimate daughter of a gentleman from Pavia. Her Jewish father and brother were able to flee to Switzerland. Since her father did not want her to become an actress, Norsa adopted the stage name Valeri in the 1950s as suggested by a friend of hers who was reading a book by French critic and poet Paul Valéry.
