Copa Escobar-Gerona
The Copa de Confraternidad Rioplatense Escobar-Gerona was an official football competition organized by both bodies, the Argentine and Uruguayan football association, being first held in 1941. The Cup was played between the Primera División runners-up of Argentina and Uruguay, with a two match format, played in each country. This competition was played simultaneously with the Copa Aldao (also known as "Copa Río de la Plata", played by the champions of Argentine and Uruguayan associations). The Argentine Football Association ( es, Asociación del Fútbol Argentino, ; AFA) is the governing body of football in Argentina based in Buenos Aires. Estadio Centenario is a stadium in the Parque Batlle of Montevideo, Uruguay, used primarily for football. The stadium was built between 1929 and 1930 to host the inaugural 1930 FIFA World Cup, as well as to commemorate the centenary of Uruguay's first constitution. Jaime Sarlanga
Jaime Sarlanga (February 24, 1916 – August 24, 1966) was an Argentine football forward. He played most of his career for Boca Juniors where he won 7 titles and scored 115 league goals, making him the 5th. highest goalscorer in club's history. Biography Beginning Sarlanga He was born in Tigre, Buenos Aires Province in 1916. He started playing football in local clubs Defensor and Sportivo Delta, and then joined Tigre where he played in the youth divisions until his debut in Primera División in 1935 vs. Independiente. He played with Tigre for two seasons, until 1937 when he joined Ferro Carril Oeste, where he formed a powerful group of forwards along with Bernardo Gandulla, Raúl Emeal, Juan J. Pío Sixto Corcuera (17 July 1921 – 22 November 2011) was an Argentine football striker who played most of his career for Boca Juniors.
