Cockspur Cup
The ECB National Club Cricket Championship is a forty over limited overs knockout club cricket competition in England. The most successful clubs have been Scarborough, from North Yorkshire, with five titles and Old Hill, from Staffordshire, with four. The 2019 champions were Swardeston, after they beat Nantwich by 53 runs in the final; the competition was not played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was originally only open to "senior" cricket sides (sides playing in the senior county leagues) and in 1972 the National Village Cup competition was formed for village sides unable to enter this competition. Limited Overs Cricket
Limited overs cricket, also known as one-day cricket or white ball cricket, is a version of the sport of cricket in which a match is generally completed in one day. There are a number of formats, including List A cricket (8-hour games), Twenty20 cricket (3-hour games), and 100-ball cricket (2.5 hours). The name reflects the rule that in the match each team bowls a set maximum number of overs (sets of 6 legal balls), usually between 20 and 50, although shorter and longer forms of limited overs cricket have been played. The concept contrasts with Test and first-class matches, which can take up to five days to complete. One-day cricket is popular with spectators as it can encourage aggressive, risky, entertaining batting, often results in cliffhanger endings, and ensures that a spectator can watch an entire match without committing to five days of continuous attendance. Moseley Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club in Solihull. Their 1st and 2nd XIs currently play in the Birmingham and District Premier League premier division. Wanstead () is a town in East London, England, in the London Borough of Redbridge. It borders South Woodford to the north, Redbridge, London, Redbridge to the east and Forest Gate to the south, with Leytonstone and Walthamstow to the west. Bromley Cricket Club was one of the strongest English cricket clubs in the mid-18th century when its team was led by Robert Colchin a.k.a. "Long Robin". Earliest mentions Cricket almost certainly originated in Kent and Sussex so it must have been played in and around Bromley since time immemorial. The first definite mention of the area in a cricket connection is a 1735 match on Bromley Common between a Kent side and London Cricket Club. The report of this match states that "a large crowd attended and a great deal of mischief was done. It seems that horses panicked and riders were thrown while some members of the crowd were ridden over. One man was carried off for dead as HRH passed by at the entrance to the Common". Horsham Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the world and represents the Sussex market town of Horsham in the Sussex Cricket League, along with Roffey Cricket Club. Although cricket was played in Horsham before 1768, the first recorded game of a town side was on 8 August 1771, and Horsham Cricket Club was created soon after 1806. The club has played various locations over the years, before settling at their present ground in 1851. Kibworth Cricket Club New Ground is a cricket ground in Kibworth, Leicestershire, England. The ground replaced the original Kibworth Cricket Club Ground which was sold for development at the end of the 2005 season. The New Ground is located directly next to the development which covers the old ground. Sandiacre Town Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club based in Sandiacre, Derbyshire, England. The club was established in 1877 and has won the ECB National Club Cricket Championship on 2 occasions: 2003 and 2014. Established in 1833, it originally trained and played games in the Chuckery area of Walsall. It then moved to one at Windmill in 1847 and remained there until around 1850. Chorley Cricket Club is an England, English cricket club based in Chorley, Lancashire, playing their home matches at Windsor Park. The club's first team compete in the England and Wales Cricket Board, ECB Northern Premier Cricket League, while the Second, Third and Sunday development teams take part in the more locally based Palace Shield along with all Junior teams from a large and healthy juniour section. The club gained prominence nationally in the 1990s when Chorley the final of the Abbot Ale ECB National Club Cricket Championship at Lords in 1994, 1995 and 1996. Blackpool Cricket Club
Blackpool Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Stanley Park, in Blackpool, Lancashire. Located in western quadrant of the park, the club plays at a 5,000-seater ground, which is regularly used for county cricket matches by Lancashire. The club's 1st and 2nd XI play in the ECB Northern Premier League while its 3rd XI and Sunday Development XI turn out in the Palace Shield, and its 4th XI in the Fylde League.
