Darryl McDonald
Darryl McDonald (born 17 June 1964) is an American-Australian professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). Nicknamed "D-Mac", he played college basketball for the Texas A&M Aggies. He played in the NBL for the North Melbourne Giants, Victoria Titans / Giants and the Melbourne Tigers. McDonald was a three-time NBL champion: winning with the Giants in 1994, and twice with the Tigers in 2006 and 2008. He was selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NBL All-Star Game in 1996 and 2006. McDonald served as the interim coach for the Melbourne Tigers during the 2011–12 season and returned in the same capacity with the renamed Melbourne United for the 2014–15 season. Brett William Brown (born February 16, 1961) is an American professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Brown is a former college basketball player who previously served as head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2013 to 2020. Before that, Brown was an assistant on Gregg Popovich's staff on the Spurs. Bruce Palmer (basketball)
Bruce Palmer (born November 12, 1955) is an American professional basketball coach who coached primarily in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). Palmer began coaching in the NBL in 1987 with the North Melbourne Giants, after coaching the Dandenong Rangers in the VBA. In 1988 he was awarded NBL Coach of the Year though the Giants would lose the NBL Grand Final series to the Canberra Cannons. The following year, the Giants won the championship over the Cannons. Palmer moved to the Brisbane Bullets in 1993, although he was unsuccessful in bringing the team the level of success he saw with the Giants. He left the team after three seasons and took a break from coaching in the NBL, during which he coached representative youth basketball. In 1998 he worked as an assistant coach with the Brisbane Bullets under head coach Brian Kerle. Paul Rees (basketball)
Paul Rees (born 6 January 1969) is a former Australian professional basketball player who played his entire career in the Australian National Basketball League. Rees was known for his presence under the basket and while not blessed with a great jumping ability he was able to use his physical size to his advantage and was considered to be a strong rebounder. Professional career Rees, a 6'9" (205 cm) tall Centre, made his NBL debut in the 1990 season for the Brisbane Bullets. The Bullets made the NBL Grand Final that season but went down two games to one to the Perth Wildcats. After the club failed to make the playoffs in 1991, Rees signed with the North Melbourne Giants. Rees quickly established himself as the starting centre for the Giants who hadn't made the playoffs since their 1989 championship win over the Canberra Cannons. The Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Centre (originally known as the Swimming and Diving Stadium and now known commercially as the AIA Vitality Centre) is a sports administration and training facility located in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, Australia. Scott Fisher (basketball)
Scott C. Fisher (born July 20, 1963) is an American-Australian former professional basketball player and coach, most known for his time spent with the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL) in both roles. As a player, he won the NBL MVP in 1989 and 1992 while playing for the North Melbourne Giants. He won a championship with the Giants in 1989 before winning two more with the Wildcats in 1995 and 2000.
