Club Progresista (formerly "Club Social y Deportivo Progresista") is an Argentine sports club based in the Piñeyro district of Avellaneda Partido, Greater Buenos Aires. The club has been regarded for its football squad that played in Primera División during the 1920s. Apart from football, sports now played at Progresista are Basque pelota, swimming and taekwondo. History During its first years of existence, Progresista had a strong rivalry with El Porvenir, a neighbor club from Gerli. Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. Originally created as the second division, it became the third level after a restructuring of the system in 1985 that ended with the creation of Primera B Nacional, set as the second division since then. The other league at level three is the Torneo Federal A, where teams from regional leagues take part. Arsenio Pastor Erico Martínez (30 March 1915 – 23 July 1977) was a Paraguayan football striker. He is the all-time highest goalscorer in the Argentine first division, with 295 goals according to Argentine Football Association. The Primera C Metropolitana is one of the two professional leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system. Primera C Metropolitana is made up of 20 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area ( Greater Buenos Aires). The other league at level four is the Torneo Federal B, where teams from regional leagues take part. Format Primera C is currently organised into two league tournaments, the Apertura (opening) and the Clausura (closing). Each team plays every other team once in the Apertura, and then once again at the reverse venue in the Clausura. The winners of the two league titles are recognised as champions. Club Sportivo Dock Sud is an Argentine football club based in the Dock Sud district of Avellaneda Partido, Greater Buenos Aires. Club Atlético Palermo is a sports club from the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The club has British roots, so the first clubs in London had been founded as social institutions so therefore they were usually the place where gentlemen of the high classes met. Club Atlético Del Plata (mostly known as Del Plata) is a defunct Argentine football club that played in Primera División during the 1920s. The club would be later re-established but it finally disappeared in the 1990s. History The club was founded by employees of former "Mercado del Plata", a popular market of Buenos Aires established in 1856 which sold and distributed fruits and vegetables, among other goods. The club was established on 20 September 1915 as Club Atlético Del Plata, taking the name from the market which its founders worked at.
