Cleethorpes Academy
Cleethorpes Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, based in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England. The school opened in September 2010, on the site previously occupied by the Lindsey School and Community Arts College. Cleethorpes Academy is owned and operated by Tollbar MAT, an educational trust formed in May 2012 as a group of schools in the Lincolnshire LEA. The decision to close the Lindsey School and open Cleethorpes Academy, came after the former was placed in special measures by Ofsted, the Government appointed schools inspectorate. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Beverley is a market and minster town and a civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, of which it is the county town. Dorothy Head Knode
Alice Dorothy Head Knode (née Head; July 4, 1925 – October 25, 2015), also known as Dottie Head Knode, was an American tennis player who reached the women's singles final of the French Open, French International Championships in 1955, losing to Angela Mortimer in three sets, and 1957, losing to Shirley Bloomer in straight sets. She reached the semifinals of six other Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam singles tournaments from 1952 through 1957. In 1948, she won the singles title at the Cincinnati Masters (then known as the Cincinnati Masters, Tri-State Championships) after defeating Mercedes Madden Lewis in the final in straight sets. Knode won the singles title at the Qatar Telecom German Open, German Championships in 1950, 1952, and 1953. The French Open (french: Internationaux de France de tennis), also known as Roland-Garros (), is a major tennis tournament held over two weeks at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, beginning in late May each year. The tournament and venue are named after the French aviator Roland Garros. Christopher William Brasher CBE (21 August 1928 – 28 February 2003) was a British track and field athlete, sports journalist and co-founder of the London Marathon. Early life and education Born in Georgetown, British Guiana, Brasher went to Rugby School and then St John's College, Cambridge, where he read geology. He was a keen mountaineer, and as a student was President of the Cambridge University Mountaineering Club, and in 1948 led an expedition to Baffin Island with W A Deer. Shirley Brasher (née Bloomer; born 13 June 1934) is a former tennis player from England who won three Grand Slam titles during her career and who was the top-ranked singles player in her country in 1957. Peter Winn (footballer)
Peter Harry Winn (born 19 December 1988) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays for Barton Town. He started his career at Scunthorpe United, making his first-team debut at the age of 16 whilst a second-year scholar. He was loaned out to Northwich Victoria and Barrow respectively towards the latter stages of the 2008–09 season. Winn joined Conference Premier club Gateshead the following season, initially on a two-month loan deal, before extending the agreement until the end of the season. Northampton Town
Northampton Town Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Northampton, England. The team plays in , the fourth tier of the English football league system. Founded in 1897, the club competed in the Midland League for two seasons, before joining the Southern League in 1901.
