Clayton Valley Charter High School
Clayton Valley Charter High School (CVCHS) is a comprehensive charter high school located in Concord, California, United States, just under two miles from Clayton. Most of the school's students live in Clayton and the nearby Concord neighborhoods. As a charter school, CVCHS has both a traditional principal as site leader and an executive director who heads the school district central office as superintendent. It also has a nine-member governing board. CVCHS houses ClaytonArts Academy. It is the location of the local radio station 90.5 "The Edge" KVHS, which broadcasts mostly hard rock and heavy metal music. Concord ( ) is the largest city in Contra Costa County, California. Robert Lesley "Bob" Thomason, Jr. (born March 26, 1949) is a retired American college basketball coach. He coached the University of the Pacific Tigers men's basketball team for 25 seasons from 1988 to 2013. In 25 years at Pacific, Thomason has the most wins in school and Big West history with 437. Clyde Wayne Mashore (May 29, 1945 – January 24, 2016) was an American Major League Baseball outfielder who played in 241 games over five seasons for the Cincinnati Reds and Montreal Expos of the National League. He batted and threw right-handed. Mashore played football, basketball, track and baseball at Clayton Valley High School in Concord, California, graduating in 1964. He was signed by the Reds prior to the 1964 season as an amateur free agent. He was then drafted by the New York Mets in the Rule 5 draft, but was returned to the Reds the following spring.
