Clay Records
Clay Records was an independent record label founded by Mike Stone in 1980 and based in a record shop in Stoke-on-Trent, England. History Clay's first signing was local Stoke punk band Discharge who released the ''Realities of War'' single in April 1980. Stone distributed the single out of the boot of his car but it still made it into the top 10 of the indie chart in the music magazine Sounds. The label went on to sign artists including Play Dead, The Lurkers, Demon and G.B.H. Members of Clay went on to form Jungle Records in 1984. In 1996, the label's distributor, Pinnacle Entertainment, went under, resulting in Mike Stone subsequently lost £25,000. This led him to close the label in 1996. In January 2000, the label's assets were sold off to Trojan Records, who was subsequently acquired by Sanctuary Records Group in 2001. Subsequently, Clay Records back catalogue is owned by Sanctuary/ BMG Rights Management. Discography Releases by Clay Records were: 7"/12" Releases *CL ...

Charged GBH
GBH (originally known as Charged GBH) are an English punk rock band which was formed in 1978 by vocalist Colin Abrahall, guitarist Colin "Jock" Blyth, bassist Sean McCarthy (replaced by Ross Lomas after two years) and drummer Andy "Wilf" Williams. Background GBH were early pioneers of British street punk, often nicknamed " UK82", along with Discharge, Broken Bones, The Exploited, and The Varukers. GBH have gone on to influence several punk rock musicians, but their influence has been especially far-reaching in metal, including the early Bathory albums, Hellhammer/ Celtic Frost, Exodus and each of the "big four of thrash metal" (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax). Metallica frontman James Hetfield has repeatedly expressed his enthusiasm for GBH and said such bands were the beginning of thrash to him. Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM has said he listened to second-wave punk bands before starting his own band, mentioning GBH as an example. GBH have also influenced 19 ...

Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
''Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing'' is the debut studio album by English hardcore punk band Discharge, released on 21 May 1982 by Clay Records. The album is characterized by a minimalistic approach of music and lyrics, a heavy, distorted, and grinding guitar-driven sound and raw, shouted vocals similar to a political speech, with lyrics on anti-war themes. AllMusic calls the band's sound a "high-speed noise overload" characterized by "ferocious noise blasts." The album is considered highly important in the evolution of extreme forms of metal and punk music, paving the way for genres such as thrash metal, black metal, crust punk and grindcore. Reception and legacy Media response to ''Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing'' was positive. The album was listed as the number one punk album of all time in a poll by ''Terrorizer'' magazine. In David Konow's history of heavy metal, he calls the album the band's "...crowning achievement, a mercilessly brutal masterpiece." The a ...

Plastic Idols
Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that use polymers as a main ingredient. Their plasticity makes it possible for plastics to be moulded, extruded or pressed into solid objects of various shapes. This adaptability, plus a wide range of other properties, such as being lightweight, durable, flexible, and inexpensive to produce, has led to its widespread use. Plastics typically are made through human industrial systems. Most modern plastics are derived from fossil fuel-based chemicals like natural gas or petroleum; however, recent industrial methods use variants made from renewable materials, such as corn or cotton derivatives. 9.2 billion tonnes of plastic are estimated to have been made between 1950 and 2017. More than half this plastic has been produced since 2004. In 2020, 400 million tonnes of plastic were produced. If global trends on plastic demand continue, it is estimated that by 2050 annual global plastic production will reach over 1, ...
