Cinebook Ltd is a British publishing company that publishes comic albums and graphic novels. It describes itself as "the 9th art publisher," the 9th art being comics in continental Europe, especially France, Belgium and Italy. They typically translate Franco-Belgian comics – predominantly originating from the Franco-Belgian comic publishers Dargaud, Dupuis and Le Lombard – into English and have also issued an original series about the French Queen Marguerite de Valois, also known as Queen Margot. Cinebook works with a team of translators, including native speakers of French, British English and American English. Aldebaran (comics)
The ''Worlds of Aldebaran'' (french: Les Mondes d'Aldébaran) is a French science-fiction comic series written and illustrated by Léo and published by Dargaud in French and Cinebook in English. The ''Aldebaran'' saga is divided into 5 cycles: ''Aldebaran'' and its sequels ''Betelgeuse'', ''Antares'', ''Survivors'', ''Return to Aldebaran'' and ''Neptune''. Each cycle is composed of three to six albums, and each corresponds to a different planet. Although it is possible to read the cycles separately, they are chronological to form a coherent whole. Each cycle (and thus planet) introduces new secondary characters, although the central heroes of the story remain constant. 2011 saw the release of a new volume, ''Survivors'' (french: Survivants), which introduced a new set of characters and takes place concurrently with ''Antares''. Blake And Mortimer
''Blake and Mortimer'' is a Belgian comics series created by the writer and comics artist Edgar P. Jacobs. It was one of the first series to appear in the Franco-Belgian comics magazine '' Tintin'' in 1946, and was subsequently published in book form by Le Lombard. The main protagonists of the adventures are Philip Mortimer, a leading British scientist, and his friend Captain Francis Blake of MI5. The main antagonist is their sworn enemy, Colonel Olrik, who has appeared in almost every book. Their confrontations take them into the realms of detective investigation and science-fiction, dealing with such themes as time travel, Atlantis and espionage. ''Boule et Bill'' (known in English as ''Billy & Buddy'') is a popular comic, created in 1959 by Belgian writer-artist Jean Roba in collaboration with Maurice Rosy. In 2003, the artistic responsibility of the series was passed on to Roba's former assistant Laurent Verron. The stories center on a typical family: a man and his wife, their young son Boule and Bill the cocker spaniel. Delaf (the pen name of Marc Delafontaine, born October 9, 1973, in Sherbrooke, Quebec), is a '' Québécois'' comics creator and illustrator, notable for his work in ''The Bellybuttons'' (''Les Nombrils''), a comics feature that he co-created with his wife, Maryse Dubuc. Biography Delaf began his career as an illustrator of a series of brochures advertising for a school that specialised in the education of French as a second language. He would soon expand his career, working in animation, illustrating children's books, and drawing and writing comics.
