Château De Montsoreau-Museum Of Contemporary Art
The Château de Montsoreau-Museum Contemporary Art is a private museum open to the public in Montsoreau, France. It opened 8 April 2016. The permanent collection exhibited at Château de Montsoreau consists of Philippe Méaille's collection of works by the conceptual art collective Art & Language. History Philippe Méaille, who lives in Anjou, worked with Christian Gillet, the president of the department of Maine-et-Loire, to study the possibility of creating a museum of contemporary art in Anjou, and to install his collection in the château de Montsoreau, a departmental property. On 19 June 2015, Christian Gillet offered Méaille a 25 year lease. Restoration works During the redevelopment of a former storage room, the masons discovered a chimney dating from about 1450. Philip Pilkington
Philip Pilkington is an Irish economist working in investment finance. He became well-known for his critiques of neoclassical economics on his blog ''Fixing the Economists''. Since then he has written a book entitled ''The Reformation in Economics'' outlining these critiques, developed an empirical methodology to assess general equilibrium theory and created a new means to estimate both potential output and inflationary pressure in the labor market. Solomon "Sol" LeWitt (September 9, 1928 – April 8, 2007) was an American artist linked to various movements, including conceptual art and minimalism. LeWitt came to fame in the late 1960s with his wall drawings and "structures" (a term he preferred instead of "sculptures") but was prolific in a wide range of media including drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, installation, and artist's books. Charles Townsend Harrison (11 February 1942 Chesham, Buckinghamshire – 6 August 2009 Banbury, Oxfordshire), BA Hons (Cantab), MA (Cantab), PhD (London) was a UK art historian who taught Art History for many years and was Emeritus Professor of History and Theory of Art at the Open University. Ian Burn (29 December 1939 – 29 September 1993) was an Australian conceptual artist. He was a member of the Art and Language group that flourished in the 1970s. Ian Burn was also an art writer, curator, and scholar. Biography Ian Burn was born on 29 December 1939 in Geelong, Australia. Burn studied art at the National Gallery Art School in Melbourne. He became affiliated with the Art and Language collective when he moved to London in 1964 and remained a part of the group when he moved to New York City in 1967. In 1977, Burn returned to Australia to teach at Sydney University. Ian Burn drowned on 29 September 1993 while swimming in rough seas at Bawley Point, New South Wales. David Bainbridge (* 1941 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, Great Britain; † 30 June 2013) was a British sculptor, Conceptual Artist and member of the artist group Art & Language. Terry Atkinson
Terry Atkinson (born 1939) is an English artist. Atkinson was born in Thurnscoe, near Barnsley, Yorkshire. He lives in Leamington Spa, England with his wife, artist Sue Atkinson, with whom he has frequently collaborated. In 1967, he began to teach art at the Coventry School of Art while producing conceptual works, sometimes in collaboration with Michael Baldwin.
